ONION PAN-FRIED PORK CHOPS

Onion Pan-Fried Pork Chops image

I made this up one day because I was wanting something different then the same old pan-fried pork chops (that is how my husband asked me to cook them that day). So I made this up real fast, and boy did he love them. Now he asks for them every time. I do this with boneless and bone-in pork chops. So it doesn't matter what kind you have on hand, just cook them up and enjoy.

Time 15m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
2 pork chops
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup olive oil for frying

Steps:

  • Before opening the onion soup mix, use your hands to crush the larger bits of onion in the packet. Open the packet, and pour the mix into a shallow bowl. Stir in the flour.
  • Heat the oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat. The oil is hot enough when a pinch of the flour mixture sizzles when tossed into the oil. Coat pork chops in the onion soup mixture, and shake off the excess. Carefully place in the hot oil. Turn chops over after about 30 seconds to quickly sear both sides. Cook for about 4 minutes per side, or to desired degree of doneness.

10. Pork Chops with Garlic Mushroom Sauce

Steps:

  • Irish Whiskey Pork Chops Start pouring in whiskey while still on medium heat - Next add beef broth and heavy cream, followed by Worcestershire Sauce and Italian seasoning.
  • Instant Pot Creamy Pork Chops For the best results when thickening a sauce in the pressure cooker, always add the thickener (like a roux) after pressure cooking is done - not before.
  • Low Carb Creamy Pork Chops. Use low carb dry white wine only. Honey Balsamic Sauce. Add 1 tbsp butter to the now empty pan and add chopped scallions, garlic, fresh chopped rosemary and thyme. Cook for 2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Bacon and Mushroom Smothered Pork Chops. Make sure to chop the bacon really well!

PAN FRIED PORK CHOPS

Pan Fried Pork Chops image

Simple is best! These crisp and golden brown Pan Fried Pork Chops come together with about 5 minutes of prep for an easy weeknight dinner that your family will love!

Provided by Blair Lonergan

Categories     Dinner

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 - 4 thick-cut bone-in pork chops ((about 1 - 1 ¼ - inch thick, about 12 ounces each))
2 teaspoons seasoned salt (such as Lawry's brand)
½ teaspoon pepper
¼ cup all-purpose flour
Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or sage

Steps:

  • Place flour in a shallow dish.
  • Pat pork chops dry and season liberally with seasoned salt and pepper on both sides. Dredge the pork chops in flour, shaking off the excess.
  • Melt butter and oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add chops to the hot skillet and cook until browned on both sides and a meat thermometer registers 140°F - 145°F (about 7-10 minutes per side). Smaller bone-in pork chops will cook in 5-6 minutes per side, so just keep an eye on your chops and use the thermometer to know when they're done. The internal temperature of the pork chops will continue to rise after you remove them from the pan.
  • Transfer pork chops to a plate, tent with foil, and allow to rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
  • Note: Depending on the size of your pan (and pork chops), you might need to cook the pork chops in batches of two. Just make sure that you don't overcrowd your pan by trying to squeeze too many chops in at once!

PAN FRIED PORK CHOPS

Pan Fried Pork Chops image

These Pan Fried Pork Chops are extra juicy, perfectly seared and are ready in minutes! Pan frying your pork chops in butter and fresh herbs is always the way to go!

Provided by Ellen

Categories     30 Minutes Or Less

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 lbs lean boneless pork chops, about 1.5 inches thick
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons salted butter
1/2 teaspoon minced fresh thyme or rosemary

Steps:

  • Rinse pork chops, pat dry and season both sides evenly with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork chops until bottom side is golden brown and seared about 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn and cook on other side about 1-2 minutes before turning again. Repeat flipping the chops until they are deep golden brown and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 145°, 8-10 minutes (cooking time will depend on thickness of chops).
  • Once pork chops reach desired temperature, add butter and thyme and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, spooning the butter on top of the pork chops as they continue to cook.
  • Spoon the butter-sauce from the pan over the pork chops one last time and place on a serving plate.
  • Let pork chops rest for 5 minutes on a plate tented with foil, then serve. (Letting them rest allows them to become fully tender and juicy!)
