A perfect combination of layers dressed with a delicious homemade dressing makes for a gorgeous salad!

1 head iceberg lettuce (chopped)
2 cups tomatoes (diced, or sliced cherry tomatoes)
2 cups frozen peas (defrosted (uncooked))
½ cup green onions (or red onions, sliced)
8 hard boiled eggs (cooled, peeled and chopped)
2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
8 slices bacon (cooked crisp and crumbled)
¾ cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Steps:

  • Combine all dressing ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
  • Place lettuce in the bottom of a large bowl (or 9x13 pan).
  • Top with tomatoes, peas, onions and boiled eggs. Spread dressing overtop to seal the edges. Top with cheese.
  • Cover salad and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Top with bacon before serving.

1 medium head iceberg lettuce, torn
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 small sweet red pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
2 cups frozen peas (about 10 ounces)
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
12 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
3/4 cup dried cranberries

Steps:

  • In a 4-qt. or 13x9-in. glass dish, layer the first 5 ingredients. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and sugar; spoon over salad, spreading to cover., Sprinkle top with cheese, bacon and cranberries. Refrigerate, covered, overnight.

I usually make this bacon, lettuce, onion, pea, cheese and cauliflower layered salad in a large flat bowl. There's never too much because everybody loves it! You can vary the salad by substituting green onions for red, jack cheese for the Cheddar, etc.

1 pound bacon
1 large head iceberg lettuce - rinsed, dried, and chopped
1 red onion, chopped
1 (10 ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed
10 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped cauliflower
1 ¼ cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white sugar
⅔ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Crumble and set aside.
  • In a large flat bowl, place the chopped lettuce and top with a layer of onion, peas, shredded cheese, cauliflower and bacon.
  • Prepare the dressing by whisking together the mayonnaise, sugar and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle over salad and refrigerate until chilled.

1/2 onion (chopped)
1 bag frozen peas (Do not thaw or cook)
1 1/2 Cup Mayonaise (Use real mayonnaise)
6 hard boiled eggs (peeled and chopped)
8 oz cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 pound bacon (cooked and crumbled)

Steps:

  • Layer your ingredients in a bowl in this order: Chopped lettuce, chopped green peppers, chopped sweet onion, contents of one bag of frozen peas, mayonnaise, hard boiled eggs, cheese, and bacon.

This 7 layer salad recipe sounds like a bunch of vegetables thrown together, but every occasion people ask me if I will make this, it is really gooooooood. Overnight chilling not included in preparation time.

1 head lettuce, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup celery (I leave this out)
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup frozen peas, uncooked
2 cups Miracle Whip (I use the Lite)
2 teaspoons sugar (You can use Equal or Sweet and Low)
1 (4 ounce) jar Bacos bacon bits (you can also use crumbled leftover bacon)
2 cups cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Layer all of the above vegetables in order, evenly.
  • Cover with plastic wrap securely and refrigerate overnight.

Overnight lettuce salad is my grandmother's version of 7 layer salad made with lettuce, cauliflower, mayonnaise, onions, celery, bacon, and parmesan cheese.

2 hearts of romaine
1 head cauliflower
3 stalks celery
2 cups mayonnaise
4 green onions
1 pound bacon
½ cup parmesan cheese
⅓ cup sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Chop the lettuce into bite sized pieces and spread acorss a large low profile bowl or 13X9 pan.
  • Chop the head of cauliflower into small pieces and finely dice up the celery. Spread over the lettuce.
  • Spread the mayonnaise over the lettuce, califlower, and celery.
  • Cut the green onions and spread over the mayonnaise. Then spread the fried crumbled bacon over the green onions.
  • Sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the entire salad.
  • If adding sugar, sprinkle over teh parmesan cheese.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight or for 8 hours.
  • Before serving, toss ensuring the mayonnaise is well coated over the entire salad.

8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup sour cream
¾ cup fat-free half-and-half
8 ounces crumbled blue cheese
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (6 ounce) package chow mein rice noodles

Steps:

  • Place greens in a clear glass serving bowl; sprinkle with green onions. Layer sliced beets on the onions. Arrange hard-boil egg slices on their sides against the glass for a decorative layer. Add sliced red onions and peas. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  • Mix sour cream, half-and-half, crumbled blue cheese, salt, and pepper together in a mixing bowl until well blended. Pour evenly over the salad.
  • Top with rice noodles just before serving.

1 large bag salad greens or spinich
1 bunch diced scallions (use both green and white parts)
1/2 lb crisp, drained bacon (or 1 jar bacon bits)
4 large boiled eggs, diced
8 oz frozen peas, uncooked
1 c sour crea
1 c mayo
1 pkg hidden valley ranch mix
2 c shredded cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Mix sour cream, mayo and Hidden Valley mix together.
  • 2. In a large bowl, layer salad in the following order: lettuce scallions bacon boiled eggs peas dressing mixture cheese
  • 3. Refrigerate overnight (or for approx 8 hours) before serving. Ingredients and/or quantities can be adjusted to taste

1 cup mayonnaise or light mayonnaise
¼ cup lemon juice
2 teaspoons salt
¼ cup sugar, optional
1½ cups shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

Steps:

  • In a large trifle dish, layer lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber.
  • In a medium bowl, combine peas and green onion and layer on top of cucumber. Layer radishes over pea mixture.
  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and, if using, sugar, stirring until smooth. Spread evenly over radish layer, sealing edges. Top with cheese and bacon.
  • Cover tightly with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or up to 24 hours. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
