Categories     Meat and Poultry Recipes     Beef     Steaks     Sirloin Steak Recipes

Time 1h22m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 (6 ounce) beef top sirloin steaks
2 cups orange juice
1 cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 ½ tablespoons steak seasoning (such as Fiesta Brand® Uncle Chris'), or to taste
freshly ground black pepper to taste
sea salt to taste

Steps:

  • Place steaks side by side in large casserole dish. Add orange juice, cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Refrigerate, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Remove casserole dish from refrigerator. Cover steaks with plastic wrap and let reach room temperature, at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  • Place steaks on a clean work surface and generously rub with steak seasoning and black pepper.
  • Cook steaks in the hot skillet until lightly browned on the bottom, 2 1/2 minutes. Flip and cook until browned on the other side and red in the center, about 2 minutes more. Place skillet, with steaks, into the oven.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until steaks are firm and reddish-pink to lightly pink in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read from 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) to 140 degrees F (60 degrees C).
  • Remove steaks from oven; season with salt. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

STEAK FRIES RECIPE

Steak Fries Recipe image

An easy, homemade steak fries recipe featuring simple instructions for how to cut and roast steak fries to crispy perfection!

Provided by Kelly Anthony

Categories     Side Dish

Time 44m

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 small Russet potatoes (scrubbed and dried)
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 teaspoons Kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425° and have ready one (or two) large rimmed sheet pans lined with either nonstick aluminum foil or parchment paper. Quarter the potatoes lengthwise. Cut each quarter into thirds.
  • Transfer the potatoes to the sheet pan, drizzle with canola oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss until evenly coated. Transfer half of the potatoes to a second sheet pan to prevent overcrowding, if necessary. The potatoes will not properly roast/brown if there is no space between them.
  • Place in the oven and bake 18 minutes. Remove from the oven and carefully turn wedges over, using tongs or a fork if necessary to keep from burning your fingers. If the potatoes stick to the foil, allow them to sit for 1-2 minutes, and then turn.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 16-18 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden-brown and crisp. Serve and enjoy.

OVEN STEAK FRIES

Oven Steak Fries image

A basic steak fries recipe from Rachael Ray. Yummy served with steak (or with anything, really!).

Provided by Kathy D

Categories     Potatoes

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 5

5 russet potatoes, with skins, cut into thin wedges
3 Tbsp olive oil, extra virgin plus a little extra to brush onto the pan
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried oregano
1 Tbsp steak seasoning blend (i like montreal by mccormick) or salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F, with the cookie sheet in the oven to get it hot. Once hot: Take the cookie sheet out of the oven and brush on a thin coat of olive oil (not the 3 T).
  • 2. In a bowl, coat the potatoes with 3 T olive oil, dried herbs and the steak seasoning or salt and pepper, and mix well.
  • 3. Spread the potatoes to the corners of the cookie sheet and cook for about 25 minutes (*could be sooner or later - check them as they cook - See note in step 4), turning once halfway through cooking. Serve once they are nicely browned to your liking!
  • 4. Note: I find that if my wedges are thin, a total of 20-25 minutes is enough. If the wedges are thicker, a total of around 40 minutes works better.

  • Cut potatoes in half lengthwise and then slice into steak fry wedges, about 1/4-1/2 inch wide each. (Just make sure they are all about the same size to ensure even cooking.)
  • Soak the fries in a large bowl of water for about 30 minutes or until you’re ready to bake them. (This helps remove some of the starch and makes them crispier in the end.)
  • Drain the potatoes in a colander and then pat them very dry with a dish towel. (This is a VERY important step! They must be really dry.)
