It's so easy to make smores in the oven! Make as many or as few as you want in just SECONDS with this super simple recipe. Fast and delicious!

Graham crackers
Large marshmallows
Chocolate bars

Steps:

  • Move an oven rack to a position about 6 inches from the broiler element at the top of the oven.
  • Turn on the broiler (on high, if you have a choice between low and high).
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with foil for easy cleanup,
  • Place as many graham crackers as you want on the baking sheet.
  • Break or cut the chocolate into large pieces that will fit on top of each graham cracker without hanging off.
  • Place the marshmallows on a flat end on top of the chocolate, enough to cover but not to hang over the edge.
  • Slide the baking sheet on to the oven rack by the broiler. Close the oven door and count to 10. Remove the baking sheet. The tops of the marshmallows should be brown; if not, return to oven for a couple more seconds.
  • Top each smore with another graham cracker and serve immediately, while warm.

4 full-size Hershey's chocolate bars
32 graham cracker squares (divided)
32 marshmallows

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to broil (525F degrees).
  • Unwrap the chocolate bars and divide each into 4 pieces to make a total of 16 pieces of chocolate; set aside.
  • Line a large baking sheet with foil for easy clean up. Arrange 16 of the graham cracker
  • squares in a single layer on the cookie sheet.
  • Top each graham cracker with 2 marshmallows.
  • Toast the marshmallows for 1-3 minutes in the oven set to broil (525F degrees) until
  • golden brown on top. Use the middle oven rack, not the top rack close to the broiler.
  • Important: Do not walk away from the oven while the marshmallows are toasting. They
  • can burn very fast! Keep a close eye on the marshmallows as they toast.
  • Remove the s'mores from the oven. Turn off the oven.
  • Place one square of chocolate on top of each s'more, then return the s'mores to the hot
  • oven for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate.
  • Remove the s'mores from the oven and top each with the remaining 16 graham cracker
  • squares.
  • Serve warm. Makes 16 servings.

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, combine butter, sugar and graham cracker crumbs until well coated. Press half of crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Top with the chocolate chips, then the marshmallows. Sprinkle the remaining graham cracker mixture over the marshmallows and press down with a spatula.
  • Bake in preheated oven 10 minutes, until marshmallows are melted. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 400 °F (204 °C).
  • Break some graham crackers in half. Place half of the broken crackers on a baking sheet, leaving some space between each one. Save the rest for later. How many graham crackers you break depends on how many s'mores you want to make. One graham cracker is enough to make one s'more.
  • Top each graham cracker half with a marshmallow. Place the marshmallow flat-side-down on top of the cracker so that it doesn't roll off.
  • Bake the s'mores for 3 to 5 minutes. They are ready when the marshmallows turn puffy and golden-brown.
  • Place a piece of plain chocolate on top of each s'more. The best type of chocolate to use for s'mores is the kind that you can break into smaller bars. You should be able to fit 2 to 4 squares on each s'more.
  • Top each s'more with a graham cracker half. Gently press down on the cracker to create a seal.
  • Wait 1 minute before digging in. This will give the chocolate time to soften up and turn gooey. It will also allow the marshmallow cool down a little.

When our restaurant Tru won its first 4-star review, my partners and I thanked the staff with a "staff meal" of caviar, champagne and foie gras. So when the second 4-star review came in, we were stuck for a way to celebrate! We decided to go the other extreme, with a feast of the best bratwurst (a Chicago classic), beer and s'mores. I think we got even more respect for the second meal than we did for the first. It takes nerve for 4-star chefs to serve s'mores! My dear friend Karen reintroduced me to the molten, aromatic pleasures of this childhood treat. Just combine three bite-size ingredients - graham crackers, milk chocolate and marshmallow - and apply heat. Add your own summer camp memories and serve immediately.

32 miniature graham crackers or 8 regular size graham crackers, broken in 1/2
2 milk chocolate bars, the kind that can be broken into squares
8 marshmallows

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Lay 1/2 of the graham crackers on a cookie sheet. Top with chocolate pieces to cover. Use kitchen scissors to snip the marshmallows in 1/2 horizontally if using miniature crackers and place 1/2 a marshmallow on top of each graham cracker. If using regular size crackers use a whole marshmallow.
  • Bake until the marshmallows are puffed and golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining graham crackers, pressing down slightly to make a sandwich. Serve immediately, while still warm.

24 whole graham crackers
2 chocolate bars, milk chocolate or dark chocolate
24 marshmallows , standard size

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients. Heat the oven to 350 F.
  • Line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper . Break the whole graham crackers along the scored line so you have 48 pieces. Place 24 on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Put 1 square of chocolate on each cracker.
  • Place a standard-sized marshmallow on each piece of chocolate.
  • Put the pan in the heated oven for about 4 to 6 minutes, or just long enough to melt the marshmallow and soften the chocolate.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and place the other half of the graham cracker on top pushing down slightly so it adheres. Serve while still warm and gooey. Enjoy!

  • On an ovenproof tray or baking pan place a graham cracker down, then top it with a piece of chocolate to mostly over the surface of the biscuit, then place a marshmallow on the center. Repeat as many times as you like, do not worry about the top of the smores you will add that once the bottom half has been cooked.
  • Place your baking tray in the oven underneath the broiler, shut the door, and check back in a minute. I would guess it will take 2-3 minutes but depending on how close your tray sits to the broiler the marshmallows will brown quicker or take longer. If you want to be sure you could do one smores first and time it and see how long it takes, the thing with a broiler is it will turn from not cooked to burned very quickly so this is not the type of thing you can walk away from and come back to.
  • Top the toasted marshmallow with another piece of graham cracker or biscuit and press down slightly to smash the gooey marshmallow and melted chocolate all together. Enjoy immediately.
