MAGIC COOKIE BARS FROM EAGLE BRAND®



Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND® image

This bar cookie is an old fashioned favorite. Chocolate chips, nuts and coconut are set in a caramelized layer on top of a graham cracker crust.

½ cup butter or margarine, melted
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
1 ⅓ cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees for glass dish). Coat 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs and butter. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly with a fork.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars or diamonds. Store covered at room temperature.

This is THE EAGLE BRAND® best-loved classic - a favorite of kids and adults alike! EAGLE BRAND® is the magic ingredient in this easy cookie bar recipe.

Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • HEAT oven to 350°F Coat 13 x 9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • COMBINE graham cracker crumbs and butter in small bowl. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly with fork.
  • BAKE 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Loosen from sides of pan while still warm; cool on wire rack. Cut into bars or diamonds.
  • For perfectly cut cookie bars, line entire pan with foil, extending foil over edge of pan. Coat lightly with no-stick cooking spray. After bars have baked and cooled, lift up with edges of foil to remove from pan. Cut into bars.
  • VARIATIONS: SUBSTITUTE chocolate chips or nuts with candy coated pieces, dried cranberries, raisins, mini-marshmallows or butterscotch chips.

1/2 c butter melted
11/2 c graham cracker crumbs
1 c chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 c semi sweet chocolate morsels 6 oz
11/3 c flakes coconut 31/2 oz can toasted
1 can(s) eagle brand sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • 1. Spray pan with non stick spray. Pour melted butter into the bottom of a 13 x9x2 inch pan
  • 2. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly over butter and press down lightly. Sprinkle nuts evenly, scatter chocolate morsels over nuts then sprinkle the coconut evenly over the choc0late
  • 3. Pour the condensed milk evenly over coconut, Bake 350 for about 25 minutes. Until lightly browned. Cool in pan at lest 15 minutes and cut into squares. Can make about 2 dozen

3/4 cup butter, melted
1 (14 ounce) can low fat sweetened condensed milk
1 1/3 cups chopped pecans
1 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups sweetened flaked coconut

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine graham crumbs with butter; press evenly onto parchment paper-lined 13x9 inch baking pan.
  • Pour condensed milk (Eagle Brand) evenly over crumbs crust.
  • Sprinkle with pecans, chocolate chips and coconut; press down firmly.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly and cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
  • 7 Layer Magic Cookie Bar: add 1 cup butterscotch chips to toppings.
  • Heavenly White Chocolate Toffee Bar: use as topppings 1 package white chocolate chips, 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut, 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted and 3/4 cup toffee bits.
