I'm a country girl, born and raised on a farm in Nebraska,I recently moved to Texas and am now a city girl :( I can't wait to get back to the farm life once we get a house! I miss making ornaments at Christmas time, but it usually included Popsicle sticks and cotton balls and maybe a gallon of glitter here and there, but it was alot of fun. So now that I'm am grown up, I decided to make some grown up ornaments to go on my primitive Christmas tree! My oh My!!! Does it ever smell so good in my kitchen right now :) Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!! Enjoy!

Categories     Other Non-Edibles

Number Of Ingredients 2

10-15 pound(s) fresh oranges
- twine or ribbon

Steps:

  • Pre heat oven to 150* ( the lowest mine would go, is 170*)
  • Slice off the ends of the oranges.
  • continue to slice the orange 3/4 inch or so thick. Use paper towels to blot away excess juice.
  • Place on cookie sheets and place in the oven, for 3 hours, flip oranges over and cook for an additional 3 hours.
  • allow to cool completely, and poke a small hole through the top of the orange, and string either twin or ribbon and hang on your tree!
  • I pray this long, but easy task is as amazingly beautiful and as heavenly smelling as it is in my home, Merry Christmas!
  • P.S. If you have some orange slices that just didn't make the cut, and you don't want to put on your tree, save them and dry them in the oven as well, and make some homemade potpourri !!( recipe for that to come later this week as well )
