2 oz Florida Bourbon
1/2 oz Orange Simple Syrup
2 Dashes of Angostura Orange Bitters
1 Orange Twist

Steps:

  • Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with a handful of ice.
  • Step 2: Stir for 20-30 seconds.
  • Step 3: Place a large ice cube (or 4-5 smaller cubes) into an old fashioned glass and strain mixture over the top.
  • Step 4: Garnish with a thumb sized orange twist.

One of the great classic bourbon cocktails, the Old Fashioned was invented in Louisville, KY. Try bourbon, rye, or a blended whiskey in this cocktail. You can also sub one sugar cube for the simple syrup.

1 teaspoon water
2 dashes bitters
1 cup ice cubes
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger bourbon whiskey
1 slice orange
1 maraschino cherry

Steps:

  • Pour the simple syrup, water, and bitters into a whiskey glass. Stir to combine, then place the ice cubes in the glass. Pour bourbon over the ice and garnish with the orange slice and maraschino cherry.

1 orange, cut into 6 slices, plus more for garnish
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons syrup from a jar of maraschino cherries
4 shots bourbon (recommended: Bulleit)
4 dashes orange bitters
Sparkling water

Steps:

  • In a pitcher combine the orange slices, sugar, and cherry syrup. Muddle with a wooden spoon or a muddler, until the sugar is dissolved and the juice is extracted from the oranges. Add the bourbon, and bitters and mix well. Pour into 4 low-ball glasses filled with ice, and top each with sparkling water. Garnish with an orange slice and serve.
