No-bake orange balls are similar to bourbon balls with vanilla wafer crumbs. The orange juice concentrate gives them a burst of orange flavor.

Steps:
- Combine the vanilla wafer cookie crumbs and 1 cup confectioners' sugar in a mixing bowl.
- Add the butter to the crumb mixture and blend in well.
- Stir in the thawed orange juice concentrate; add vanilla and nuts. Mix with your hands until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- With your hands, shape the mixture into balls about the size of walnuts. Place the prepared balls in a food storage bag with the sifted confectioners' sugar or shredded coconut. Shake the balls around so that the sugar (or coconut) sticks to the balls. You may want to do just a few at a time to prevent overcrowding which could impact the shape of the balls.
- Remove the balls from the bag and arrange the orange balls in single layer on waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Store them uncovered overnight in the refrigerator for the best flavor. If you like making easy or no-bake desserts, try chocolate bourbon truffles or big batch no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies .

ORANGE BLOSSOMS
The original recipe comes from a Better Homes and Gardens cookie catalog, however, it is only for the cookie base. These are actually a lot easier than they seem but totally worth the wait! Any kind of jam or jelly is delicious with this recipe if you aren't thrilled with oranges, but the favorite around here orange.

Steps:
- 1. In a mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer for about 30 seconds. Add sugar and vanilla and beat until well mixed. Beat in as much flour as you can with the electric mixer, then stir in the rest with a wooden spoon. Cover and chill approx 1 hour, it will be easy to handle.
- 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a mini-cupcake pan. Shape dough into approx 1 inch balls and drop into the cupcake pan slots. Using your index finger or the back of a small spoon, make an indentation in the center of the cookie dough so that it comes up even to the top of the muffin cup. Make sure not to push the indentation too far down, so there is enough dough all around the cup. Spoon approx 3/4 to 1 teaspoon of orange marmalade into each indentation, so it is even with top of the muffin cup.
- 3. Bake approx 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookie are turning golden brown. Let cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before carefully removing with a knife. They should come right out. Cool before serving, the marmalade will stay fairly hot after the cookie crust has cooled. Makes about 2 1/2 - 3 dozen blossoms.
CHRISTMAS ORANGE BALLS
My mom makes these for Christmas every year. The holiday isn't complete without them! Kids can make them too since there is no baking involved.

SESAME COOKIES WITH ORANGE BLOSSOM (VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE)
From unconventionalbaker.com
Estimated Reading Time 4 mins
- Pre-heat oven to 375F. Line a small cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside. Place the sesame seeds used for topping in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Process all cookie ingredients in a food processor (I used the small bowl of mine) until the mixture sticks together and is at the beginning stages of forming a ball.** Gather all this dough up (I used a spoon to scoop it out of the processor) and form into a ball with your hands. Divide into 8 equal pieces of dough.
- Roll each piece of dough into a ball. Roll it around in the bowl of sesame seeds to coat, then gently flatten into a disk with your hands. Place on the cookie sheet and press down on the cookie with your hands to flatten it further (the flatter, the crispier the cookie will be). Repeat with the remaining cookies (keeping the cookies spaced about an inch apart on the tray).
- Bake the cookies for approximately 12 minutes until nicely golden. Remove from oven and cool completely on a wire rack. Enjoy!

- Orange Blossom Bath. Mix 2-3 cups of warm milk, 3 Tablespoons of honey and 1/4 cup of orange blossom water. Add to your bath water. Close your eyes and dream of Sicilian orange groves.
- Hand Freshener. There is an old Middle Eastern tradition whereby guests are greeted and bid farewell by a sprinkling of water mixed with either rose or orange blossom.
- Natural Room Scent. How do you make your house smell like the South of France? Pour a few drops into a bowl of boiling water and leave it in your bedroom.
- Puddings and Ice Cream. Panna cotta, custard, mousse, rice pudding–anything creamy and milky will take on the addition of orange blossom (or rose) water gratefully.
- Fruit Desserts. If rose is a natural partner for raspberries, orange blossom marries especially well with strawberries. Some varieties shares the same aromatic compounds with orange flowers, and adding a little bit of orange blossom water to a strawberry based dessert will enhance the flavor.
- Orange and Orange Blossom. Any citrus will love a hint of orange blossom, but lemons and oranges even more so. You can try mixing in a 1/4 teaspoon of orange blossom water into a glass of orange juice for a refreshing drink.
- Vegetable Salads. Orange blossom is not just for desserts. You’ve probably tasted it in more savory prepared foods than you realize. Used in small quantities, it can add an intriguing, memorable twist.
- Breads, Pastries and Pancakes. Those who quote Marie-Antoinette quipping “let them eat cake” not only attribute it to the wrong person, they also mistake the edible.
- Honey and Orange Blossom. This is another of those “match made in heaven” pairings. Orange flower tones down the waxy, animalic notes of honey, while honey enhances the floral facets of orange blossom.
- Mineral Water. It’s sweltering hot and your clothes stick to your body. Add 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of orange blossom to a glass of cold water and you have one of the best refreshments.
DATE-CRISP BALLS - ROSE WATER & ORANGE BLOSSOMS
From maureenabood.com
Estimated Reading Time 2 mins
- In a small, heavy saucepan over low heat, melt the butter with the sugar. Add the egg and combine, stirring until warmed through, about a minute.
- Add the dates and increase heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick, 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add the crisp rice cereal and nuts if using. Stir until the cereal completely coated.
- When the mixture is cool enough to handle but still very warm, shape heaping teaspoons of the mixture into cohesive balls between the palms of your hands. Roll in coconut (it will only lightly coat the balls, not completely, which allows for a nice balance of flavors).
