One-Pot Italian Bean and Sausage Pasta image

Pasta lovers in search of a different twist on your favorite dish, look no further. This one-pot pairs campanelle pasta with spicy Italian sausage and creamy cannellini beans in a tomato sauce that's guaranteed to warm you up on a cold night.

1 tablespoon olive oil
4 (4 oz each) spicy Italian sausage links
8 oz uncooked campanelle pasta (2 3/4 cups)
2 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
2 tablespoons Muir Glen™ organic tomato paste (from 6-oz can)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic fire roasted crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can (19 oz) Progresso™ cannellini beans, drained, rinsed
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (2 oz)

Steps:

  • In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add sausages; cook 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until sausages are browned on all sides. Add pasta, chicken broth, tomato paste and salt. Heat to boiling; cover, reduce heat and cook 9 to 11 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente and most of liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove skillet from heat. Remove sausages, cut into 1/2-inch slices, and return to skillet with crushed tomatoes and beans. Cook over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot. Stir in Parmesan cheese, and serve.

Italian Sausage Pasta with White Beans is an easy, hearty dinner to make for the whole family. Choose your favorite Italian sausage and you'll have a delicious dinner!

16 ounces dried orecchiette pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
12 ounces italian sausage, sliced into bite-sized pieces or crumbled
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1/2 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped
6 ounces baby spinach, chopped
1 cup chicken broth
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 15 oz can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon dried basil
salt and pepper, to taste
parmesan cheese, for serving

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water al dente according to package directions. Drain the pasta and keep warm. Reserve about one cup of pasta water. Add the oil to the pot and bring heat to medium. Brown the sausage and cook for about 10 minutes or until no longer pink. Add the garlic, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. Cook for a few minutes or until the spinach is wilted. Add the chicken broth and stir in the tomato paste. Add the beans and simmer on low for about 10 minutes or until the veggies are cooked and the sauce thickens. Add the pasta to the pot along with the dried basil. Add the pasta water, stir and cook on low until everything is well blended. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve in a large bowl with grated Parmesan cheese.

1 tbsp olive oil
8 Italian sausages
2.8l hot chicken stock
400g penne pasta
2 carrots , thinly sliced
2 onions , thinly sliced
3 celery sticks, thinly sliced
140g green beans , cut into 5cm/2in lengths
handful flat-leaf parsley , chopped

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the sausages until brown all over. Pour in the hot chicken stock and simmer with a lid on for 10 mins.
  • Add the pasta to the pan, mix well and bring to the boil. Stir in the carrots and onions, cook for 5 mins, then add the celery and beans, and cook for a further 4 mins. Check that the pasta is cooked - if not, cook for a few minutes longer. Finally, stir in chopped parsley, season, and serve in large bowls.

1/2 cup Progresso™ Panko Italian style crispy bread crumbs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb bulk mild Italian sausage
1 cup diced onions
1 cup diced red bell pepper (about 1 large)
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 carton (32 oz) Progresso™ chicken broth
1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic fire-roasted crushed tomatoes, undrained
12 oz uncooked penne pasta (3 3/4 cups)
2 cups baby spinach
1/2 cup shredded Italian cheese blend (4 oz)
2 tablespoons shredded fresh basil leaves

Steps:

  • In 8-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Toast bread crumbs in butter 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned. Transfer to small bowl; set aside.
  • In 5-quart Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat. Add sausage; cook 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink. Using slotted spoon, transfer to bowl; cover and keep warm. Add onions, bell pepper, Italian seasoning and salt to oil and drippings in pan; cook over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes or until softened and starting to brown.
  • Stir in broth and tomatoes; heat to boiling. Stir in pasta; return to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 18 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked to desired tenderness and sauce is thickened. Stir in sausage. Stir in spinach; continue to stir 30 to 60 seconds or until wilted.
  • Remove from heat; top with cheese. Top with basil and toasted bread crumbs.
