Keto Breakfast Tea image

Derived from the famous bulletproof coffee, except using tea, ghee, and coconut oil. Get creative with the kinds of tea you use...there's a lot you can do to mix it up. For example, I love using Numi Chai and Tazo Cinnamon Spice together. This is a fantastic breakfast and travels well. I also drink a decaf version at night as an after-dinner snack. #fatfast #paleo #kekwick #atkins #glutenfree #keto

Number Of Ingredients 6

16 ounces water
2 tea bags
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
no carb artificial sweetener, I use Table Top Just Like Sugar (all natural, no carbs)

Steps:

  • Make the tea, set aside.
  • Melt the ghee in a different container (I use a magic bullet so I just add the ghee to that cup and microwave it).
  • Add coconut oil and vanilla to the melted ghee.
  • Pour tea from mug into the magic bullet cup. Screw bottom on and blend until mixed thoroughly.

When I discovered how few recipes representing Oman were on the site, I went searching. The NA/ME Forum will be spending January 2013 exploring the country & here is my culinary contribution. **this is delicious! It was perfectly sweetened & lightened. I re-steeped adding 3c water, the last 4oz of evap milk in the can & only 1TB sugar. Also, 1st time, I added 2TB crystallized ginger & only 2TB sugar. YUM!**

3 cups water
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose tea
1 tablespoon ground ginger or 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 cup evaporated milk

Steps:

  • Put the water, sugar and tea into a teapot and bring to a boil over high heat. Boil for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the canned milk, and if using ground cardamom, add that too. Bring again to a boil.
  • Then immediately remove from the heat (before it rises and comes out of the teapot). If using ginger, add now then strain. Enjoy piping hot.
