We love making pasta topped with this delicious sauce that will make you think you're eating at Olive Garden!

3 28 oz. cans of Crushed Tomatoes
4 cloves garlic
4 Tablespoons dried basil
1 ½ tsp Black pepper
1-2 TBSP Sugar (optional) - this takes out the bitterness and makes it a little sweet
2 TSBP olive oil
⅓ cup grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese
Minced Green Peppers (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil in a 5+ qt. pot over medium heat, and add the chopped or pressed garlic.
  • Heat for one to two minutes, making sure not to burn the garlic, then add all the tomatoes, black pepper, basil and sugar. Stirring often, bring to a low boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours stirring often.
  • For the first half of the simmer time, do so with the pot uncovered, then cover.
  • Add the cheese, stir in and simmer for an additional 5 minutes or so.

Please don't leave a feedback saying how this recipe, "Is soooo much better than Olive Garden's", or how it is, "Close to Olive Garden's, but no cigar". It IS Olive Garden's recipe. Now we just have to figure out how they make their breadsticks! I like to throw the cooked veggies in the blender so my son doesn't realize that they're in there! ;)

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 lb ground beef
6 ounces Italian sausage, skinned
1 cup red wine
28 ounces crushed tomatoes, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1/4 tsp dry)
1 teaspoon fresh sage, chopped (or 1/4 tsp dry)
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a large pan. Add celery, carrot, onion, and garlic and cook about 5 minutes.
  • Add meat and cook 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Deglaze pan with wine, let it reduce.
  • Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients and stir, simmer for about 1 hour.
  • Serve over fresh, hot pasta.

1 package (16 ounces) of spaghetti noodles
1/2 cup cooked pancetta
1-2 cups of homemade alfredo (see comments for Alfredo recipe suggestions)
2 cups Italian cheese shredded cheese blend
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 refrigerated pie crust (or homemade if you really want)
1 to 1 1/2 lb chicken breast, sliced
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Italian Seasoning

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and put noodles in. Cook until al dente.
  • While cooking, put a pastry pie shell into a deep dish pie pan.
  • Drain the excess water from the pasta and then add in 1 1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese and parmesan cheese. Stir quickly so the cheese doesn't get gloppy.
  • Pour the pasta evenly into the pie shell. Top with remaining 1/2 cup Italian cheese.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, or until cheese on top is bubbling and brown.
  • While baking, grill chicken on stove top in a small amount of cooking oil. Toss chicken before cooking in pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Make the alfredo sauce as well.
  • When pasta comes out of oven, top with chicken and alfredo sauce. Reserve extra alfredo sauce for people to add.

I fiddled around with the original copy cat recipe until I got it where I wanted it and it tastes even better. Add more jelly and onion soup, if desired, but I found that more was too much.

1 (14 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can V8 vegetable juice
1 (750 ml) jar ragu original spaghetti sauce
1/2 envelope onion soup mix
1/4 cup grape jelly
1 -2 can mushroom, drained
1 green pepper, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Brown meat in oil.
  • Drain and run under hot water to get rid of excess fat.
  • Combine meat in a pot with rest of ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat;reduce heat and simmer 20-25 minutes.

2 Tbsp. olive oit
1 can (7 oz.) stewed tomatoes cut up
3 ozs. V-8 juice
1 jar Prego spaghetti sauce (smallest size)
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/4 cup grape jelly
if desired; add 1 container fresh mushrooms

Steps:

  • In large skillet; add oil and brown meat. When browned stir in; tomatoes V-8 juice, Prego, soup mix and grape jell.. Cook till jelly melts and sauce blends (about 15-20 mins.). I slso like to add 1 container fresh mushrooms.

1 celery stalk (finely diced)
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
1 cup red wine
28 oz crushed tomatoes
1/4 tsp rosemary
1/4 tsp dried sage
1 tsp salt

Steps:

  • Heat oil in Dutch Oven.
  • Add celery, carrot, onion, garlic and cook about 5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef and sausage and cook 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Deglaze pan with wine and reduce.
  • Add tomatoes, salt, rosemary and sage and stir.
  • Simmer for about 1 hour.
  • Serve over spaghetti!

  • Preheat oven to 350. Set 1/2 c. cheese aside. Brown beef. While beef is browning, cook pasta according to package directions. Drain. Combine beef, sauce, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper, bell peppers, and onions. Add 1 c. sauce mixture to the bottom of a greased 13X9 baking dish. Top with half the pasta. Top with 1 c. cheese. Repeat layers, ending with sauce. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Top with reserved cheese. Bake 5-7 more minutes or until cheese melts.
  • Add water, 2 Tbsp. melted butter, and honey to the bowl of a stand mixer. Add flour and gluten. Add 1 1/2 tsp. salt to the side of the bowl. Add yeast to flour. Mix on low 3-5 minutes, just until soft. Divide dough into 16 equal portions. Roll each portion into a log, about 6 inches long. Place breadsticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover with a clean dish towel. Allow to rise 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 400. Bake breadsticks 6-7 minutes. Melt 8 Tbsp. butter with garlic powder and remaining 1 t. salt. Brush over breadsticks.
