Old Fashioned Cream Soda With a

I was a professional bartender many years ago and came up with this recipe quite by accident. A customer ordered Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum with Club Soda, and by mistake, I added Canada Dry Ginger Ale! Best "mistake" I ever made behind the bar!!

HOW TO MAKE AN OLD-FASHIONED CHOCOLATE SODA

How to Make an Old-fashioned Chocolate Soda image

To create a perfect Old-fashioned Chocolate Ice Cream Soda, it takes only three ingredients - ice cream, club soda, and chocolate syrup - and a little finesse!

Provided by Renee

Categories     Dessert

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 3

2-3 scoops vanilla ice cream
6-8 ounces club soda
2-3 tablespoons chocolate syrup

Steps:

  • Drop one scoop of vanilla ice cream into the bottom of a tall soda-style glass (16 to 20 ounces) glass. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of chocolate syrup on top.
  • Use a long-handled spoon to mash and mix the ice cream and chocolate syrup together, until they have become a sort of chocolate ice cream slurry.
  • Now comes the tricky part: Using the soda spoon, slowly stir the ice cream-chocolate mixture with one hand, while at the same time very slowly pouring the club soda into the glass with your other hand. Continue adding club soda until the glass is about three-fourths full. (Don't fill it all the way or it will overflow.) Taste the soda to make sure it's chocolaty enough for you. (If not, just stir in a little additional chocolate syrup.)
  • Finish it all off by adding a scoop of ice cream to the soda glass, and then mount a second scoop to the rim, sidecar style.Top it off with one last splash of club soda, pop in a straw and enjoy!

17 EASY CROWN ROYAL COCKTAILS - INSANELY GOOD

  • Crown Royal Old-Fashioned. The old-fashioned is such a simple drink, and it’s become a staple of American bar culture. To make this version of the famous cocktail, you’ll only need Crown Royal, simple syrup, and bitters.
  • Crown and Coke. And of course, I wasn’t going to have a list of Crown Royal cocktails and not add Crown and Coke to it. Classics are classics for a reason, after all.
  • Peach Crown Royal Mixed Drink. If you’re looking for something a little sweeter and fruitier, try this peachy treat instead. With Brut champagne, Crown Royal Peach, peach mango (or pineapple) juice, and fresh fruit and peach gummy rings for garnishes, this drink is like a summer day in Georgia.
  • Peaches and Cream. Although this drink isn’t quite as peachy as the one above, it still has a terrific dose of peach flavor from the Crown Royal Peach and peach schnapps.
  • Crown Royal Caramel Apple Drink. This 5-minute drink is for those people, like me, who can’t get enough of fall flavors, no matter what time of year it is.
  • Whisky Cherry Coke Smash. This slightly sweet/slightly bitter, entirely fruity drink is simply a Crown and Coke, but with a Cherry Coke and fresh cherries twist.
  • Blackberry Whiskey Sour. If you like drinks that’ll make your mouth pucker, you can’t go wrong with the traditional whiskey sour. However, if you want a slight tanginess added in, use this recipe for a blackberry whiskey sour.
  • Gold Rush. If you’re looking for a cocktail that will get you buzzed and chase away any lingering sinus troubles or head colds, the Gold Rush is the one for you.
  • Royal Flush. This vibrant red drink is fruity and bittersweet. It tastes a lot like punch, only there’s a more robust liquor flavor that comes through pretty strongly.
  • Whiskey Highball. This gorgeous golden drink is bubbly, fizzy, and fun. It tastes primarily like Crown, although the soda water helps tone down the bite a little.

  • Catawba Flip. I thought this was another drink known as the "purple cow," but the egg makes it totally unique. Ingredients: 1 scoop vanilla ice cream 1 large egg 2 oz.
  • Bronx Egg Cream. According to the folks at Prairie Moon, to make this drink really authentic, one should wipe their mouth with their sleeve when done!
  • Ice Cream Soda. I love how these old-fashioned drinks used seltzer or club soda with different syrups more often than already flavored soda. Ingredients: 2 oz.
  • Soda Fountain Phosphate. The acid phosphate gives this refreshing drink a little extra zip. Ingredients: 2 oz. of syrup (any flavor) 10 oz. carbonated water 2 to 3 shakes of acid phosphate (or 1/2 to 1 tsp.)
  • Burn One All The Way. This chocolate malt gets its name from old soda jerk lingo for making a milkshake into a malt. Ingredients: 4 scoops chocolate ice cream 2 oz.
  • White Cow. It's pretty much just a vanilla milkshake, but you have to admit the name is much more delightful. Ingredients: 4 scoops vanilla ice cream 2 oz.
  • Brown Cow. Rounding out the variety of cows, this gives classic cola a chocolaty kick. Ingredients: Cola 2 Tbsps. chocolate syrup 1 scoop vanilla ice cream.
