2 cups diced green apples
1 cup molasses
1 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
3/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cook apples in molasses until thick; cool.
  • Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Spread in 9 inch square pan. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
