Steps:
- Mix Nutella and butter together in a stand mixer. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon the powdered sugar into the measuring cup, then level it off with a knife. Don't pack it into the cup.
- Add the sugar and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is completely combined. The mixture will be very thick, but should be smooth.
- Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper. Press the Nutella mixture down evenly in the pan.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl very slowly*, about 30 seconds, then stir. Then continue to melt it in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is almost melted. Add the softened tablespoon of butter, mix and melt the chocolate an additional 10 seconds if needed. The chocolate should be smooth.
- Spread the chocolate evenly over the Nutella mixture. Allow the fudge to set in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Remove the dish from the fridge. Pull up on the parchment paper to remove the fudge from the pan.
- While the chocolate is still slightly soft, cut the bars**. Place the bars on a cookie sheet and slide them back into the fridge to continue to set for an additional 10 minutes.
- Store the bars in an airtight container.

CHOCOLATE NUTELLA FUDGE
This recipe is a twist on the usual fudges out there. I didn't have enough chocolate on hand, so I came up with a worthy substitution. I think it's a winner-no complaints at my house.

NUTELLA FUDGE BONBONS
These look so delicious. I can't wait to try them. Found this recipe at stolenmomentscooking.com. I am assuming the chocolate chips are of the semi-sweet variety and guessing the number of servings. The author said you can replace the nutella with peanut butter if desired.

- Combine Nutella, chocolate, and condensed milk in a large glass mixing bowl. Microwave for about 30 seconds and then stir to help everything combine. Microwave for about another 30 seconds and mix again until chocolate is completely melted and mixed. You may need to microwave slightly longer, but make sure not to overcook the chocolate.
- Line an 8 x 8 inch pan with parchment paper. Pour fudge mixture in and attempt to even out top and smooth with hand. If using, sprinkle hazelnuts across surface and press down slightly into the fudge. Refrigerate for an hour or more to set. Remove and slice. Keep uneaten portions in fridge to keep from getting slightly melty/sticky. Due to the Nutella oils, this will get sticky and oily at room temperature.

- Prep: Spray an 8 x 8 inch baking dish with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper, leaving a 2 inch overlap on the sides, so you can easily pull the fudge out.
- Mix the fudge: In a bowl, add the condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, vanilla, Nutella and the 1/2 tsp salt. Microwave for a minute stirring every 30 seconds until everything is smooth, mine only took a minute. Alternatively you can fill a pot with water half way and bring it to a boil. Place the bowl over the pot and stir continuously in the bowl until the chocolate is melted, it can take about 5 minutes.
- Set the fudge: Now you need to move quickly because the chocolate will harden. Add the pistachios to the bowl and mix them in quickly using a spatula. Pour the chocolate over the parchment paper and level it out so that the top is nice and even. Sprinkle with the sea salt. Refrigerate the fudge until it's set, it will set fairly quickly, about 2 hours.
- Slice: Pull the fudge out of the pan using the edges of the parchment paper. Slice to your preferred size. You can run the knife through hot water, then dry it, to make slicing easier.
