This is a nice treat to enjoy with a hot beverage for breakfast or any time. ITs fast to make as well and oh so good to us.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/4 c melted butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c dark corn syrup
1/2 c coursely chopped pecans or walnuts
3 c all purpose flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c buttermilk
1/4 c melted butter
1/2 c brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven 400* and lightly grease a 2" round cake pan.
  • 2. For the topping: Combine the 1/4 c melted butter and brown sugar.Add the dark corn syrup.Stir to combine. Spread the syrup mixture in cake pan and add the chopped nuts. Set aside.
  • 3. For the dough: Sift the flour ,sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a big bowl.Warm 1 1/4 cups buttermilk just to lukewarm and pour warmed buttermilk into dry ingredients along with 1/4 cup melted butter. Stir to combine. Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead briefly -- just to smooth it out a bit. Gently roll dough into a 9x13 rectangle. Brush dough with water and sprinkle with 1/2 C brown sugar. Spread the sugar evenly over dough. Roll dough into a log, starting at the longer edge. Pinch the seams closed as well as you can. Now score the roll in 2 inch increments with a serrated knife or a piece of plain dental floss. Cut into slices. Lay slices in cake pan . Bake 23 to 25 minutes until golden brown. remove from oven and invert pan onto a plate and let it sit 15 seconds and then remove the pan.

¼ cup butter, divided
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter, softened
¾ cup milk
1 egg
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup confectioners' sugar
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ cup butter, softened
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Brush a 9-inch square baking dish with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  • Whisk flour, 2 tablespoons white sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Work 3 tablespoons softened butter into flour mixture using your hands. Beat milk and egg together in another bowl; pour into flour-butter mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn dough out onto a floured work surface and roll dough into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle. Brush surface of dough with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  • Whisk 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Sprinkle 1/2 of the cinnamon sugar mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar over butter-brushed dough. Roll dough around filling to form a log; cut log into 18 rolls and place rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until rolls are set, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Beat confectioners' sugar, cream cheese, 1/4 cup softened butter, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until frosting is smooth. Top hot cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.

  • Unroll both sheets of Crescent Rolls and leave in the rectangles. Pinch the seams together. Turn the rectangles so they're longer vertically and place them next to each other. Pinch them together creating a large rectangle.
  • Spread a little butter (about 2 teaspoons) over the entire rectangle. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle over butter, then sprinkle with 1/3 cup of the chopped pecans. Roll up the rectangle, rolling from the bottom. Cut into 9 equal parts.
  • Whisk brown sugar and heavy whipping cream in a small bowl. Pour into prepared pie plate. Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cup pecans over the mixture. Place the rolls evenly in the pie plate. Bake for 22-28 minutes until they're golden on top and not too jiggly. Remove from oven.
