NEWMAN'S GUACAMOLE

My favorite snack these days, from the Newman's Own brand website. I use the medium hot salsa and the light version of the Balsamic Vinaigrette. I toss some flour tortillas on a baking sheet, throw them in the oven for a few minutes until they're crisp, break them into pieces and dip them in this. Cooking time is actually chilling time.

Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients

2 medium avocados, mashed
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup newman's own all natural chunky salsa
3 tablespoons newman's own balsamic vinaigrette
lime juice
salt
pepper

Steps:

Mix together the ingredients avocados through Balsamic Vinaigrette.
Season with lime juice, salt and pepper to taste.
Cover tightly and chill at least 1 hour.

I found this recipe at www.newmansown.com. I"m posting it here to try in the future. I haven't had much luck making guacamole so maybe this will be a good substitute!

Ingredients

4 ounces cream cheese
1 avocado
1/2 cup corn kernel (thawed if frozen)
16 ounces mild chunky salsa
1/4 chopped cilantro

Steps:

Spray a knife with cooking spray, then cut cream cheese into small cubes. Scatter around bottom of serving dish. Peel and pit the avocado, then cut into cubes. Add to serving dish along with the corn kernels. Pour salsa over, covering all. Scatter cilantro over the top.
Serve with tortilla chips or pretzel crisps.
