Simple and easy to make. Competes with any brand you buy off a grocery store shelf at a fraction of the price.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
⅔ cup water
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Stir tomato sauce, water, vinegar, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, garlic salt, chili powder, paprika, sugar, and cayenne pepper together in a saucepan over low heat; cook at a simmer until slightly thickened, about 20 minutes. Cool sauce slightly before serving.

1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/3 cup water
4 teaspoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened slightly, 5-7 minutes. Cool slightly. Transfer to an airtight container, refrigerate up to 3 days.

I love Ortega Taco sauce but it's hrs to find in my neck of the woods. This sauce is every bit as good if not better.

1 (680 ml) can Hunts tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon cumin
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons lemon pepper
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and put in a mason jar.
  • Best if made in advance so the flavors have time to meld.
  • Keep in the refrigerator for up to a month.
