NASTURTIUM FAIRY NECTAR

Nasturtium Fairy Nectar image

Your little Fairy will love serving this enchanting drink at her next midsummer night's garden party. It is also a refreahing little treat for her after a long day of chasing drangonflies and butterflies by the pond. This recipe is from my daughter's favorite Flower Fairies book, Sweet Pea's Garden. This recipe does not include freezing time for the ice cubes.

Provided by Southern Polar Bear

Categories     Punch Beverage

Time 15m

Yield 8 cups, 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

12 rose petals (or other edible flowers)
1/4 cup fresh raspberry
1/8 cup granulated sugar
4 cups orange juice
4 cups cranberry juice
1 orange, cut into triangles

Steps:

  • To make fairy ice cubes:.
  • Place nasturtiums (or other edible flowers like rose petals or violet petals) and/or raspberries into ice cube trays.
  • Fill with water.
  • Freeze.
  • To make nectar:.
  • Pour a few tablespoons of orange juice into a bowl.
  • Pour a few tablespoons of sugar into a seperate bowl.
  • Decorate your glasses with "fairy dust" by dipping the rim of each glass into orange juice.
  • Then, dip the wet rims into the sugar for a frosted, glittery "fairy dust" effect.
  • Add a few ice cubes and a few raspberries to each glass.
  • Fill halfway with some fresh orange juice.
  • Carefully fill the rest of your glass with fresh cranberry juice.
  • Cut the orange into slices.
  • Cut slits in the orange slices and slide over the rim for decoration.
  • Serve with a straw, or two.
