A delicious homemade ranch dressing mix. Simple to make, contains no MSG and is perfect in dressings and dips!

Ingredients

½ cup buttermilk powder
2 tablespoons parsley
1 teaspoon dill
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons onion flakes
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons chives

Steps:

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Place in an airtight container and store up to 6 months.

I have been trying to find a ranch dressing recipe that I like that doesn't contain the free glutamate found in msg and soybean oil. I really like this blend, although it is pretty thick for a salad dressing.

Ingredients

1 cup sour cream
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1 -2 tablespoon sugar
1/2-1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4-1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

Mix all ingredients together in medium sized bowl with a whisk. Taste and adjust spices to your tastes.
For a thicker dip, use less cream and more sour cream.

1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dry dill weed
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper (or to taste)

Steps:

Mix all ingredients together and store in covered container. This will make about 2 cups of dip or 2 1/2 cups dressing.
For dip: Stir one tablespoon mix into one cup low-fat sour cream. Refrigerate overnight so flavors can blend.
For dressing: Stir one tablespoon mix into 1 1/4 cups low-fat sour cream and 1/4 cup low-fat milk (or to desired consistency). Refrigerate overnight.

Blend all of the main ingredients in a food processor. You want to blend the ingredients together until they become a fine powder.
Add in the extra parsley and dill, and then give the processor a few quick blends. This part is just to give the ranch powder a little color, like you’d expect to see with store bought ranch dressings.
To make vegetable dip with the ranch powder, mix 2 tablespoons of dry mix with 1 cup of sour cream. When you first taste it, it’ll likely not taste like you expect. The longer you let it set, the more time the flavors have to meld together. So, try to give it at least an hour to sit in the refrigerator before dipping your veggies in the ranch.
