1 cup butter, at room temperature
½ cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped hazelnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together in a large bowl using an electric mixer. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl and mix into egg mixture until just combined. Fold in chopped hazelnuts.
  • Use a tablespoon to cut off little portions of dough; roll them into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet with room in between.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, 10 to 20 minutes.

1 pound shrimp, cooked, shelled and deveined
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 1/2 cups finely chopped celery
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups coarsely crushed potato chips
paprika

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Combine crab meat, shrimp, mayonnaise, green pepper, onion, celery, salt, and Worcestershire. Pour into a buttered 2-1/2 quart casserole. Top with crushed potato chips. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until mixture is thoroughly heated.

2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup milk, heated
1 (.9-ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin, softened in 3 tablespoons cold water
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups heavy cream, whipped

Steps:

  • Combine chocolate and confectioners' sugar in a saucepan. Gradually add hot milk, stirring constantly. Place over low heat and stir until mixture reaches the boiling point. Do not boil. Remove from heat. Stir in softened gelatin, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Chill until slightly thickened. Beat with a rotary beater until light and fluffy. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into a 2-quart serving dish. Chill 2 to 3 hours.

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Gradually fold sugar into egg whites. Fold in nuts, cinnamon, lemon juice, and rind. Drop from a teaspoon onto greased and floured cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from pans immediately with a wide spatula.
