Maple combines with a subtle touch of cinnamon and nuts to give these muffins the flavor of a hearty pancake breakfast. But you don't have to sit down to enjoy them. Number Of Ingredients 16

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup 2% milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup sour cream
1 large egg, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
TOPPING:
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons cold butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, combine milk, butter, syrup, sour cream, egg and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened., Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full. For topping, combine flour, sugar, nuts and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter. , Bake 16-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Serve warm. Freeze option: Freeze cooled muffins in freezer containers. To use, thaw at room temperature or, if desired, microwave each muffin on high for 20-30 seconds or until heated through.

When the family is visiting, and the fire is going, these syrupy muffins will bring a bit of warm and cozy to the breakfast table.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter, melted
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Streusel Topping
__BLANK__
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 16 muffin cups with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, combine the 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, baking powder, and salt; mix well. In a medium bowl, whisk the melted butter, milk, syrup, egg, and vanilla. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Do not over mix. Spoon batter evenly into muffin cup liners.
  • In a small bowl, combine Streusel Topping ingredients; mix until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over batter.
  • Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool slightly, remove from pan, and let cool completely on a wire rack.

2 c all purpose flour
1/2 Tbsp ground flax seed, optional
1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c milk
1/2 c butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c maple syrup
1/4 c sour cream
1 large egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
TOPPING:
3/4 c + 2 tbl. all purpose flour
1/3 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 pinch salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
5 Tbsp butter , slightly softened
powdered sugar (for dusting)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease mini loaf pans or line muffin tin with paper liners.
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, flax, brown sugar,baking powder and salt.
  • 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, syrup, sour cream, egg and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fill prepared loaf pans or muffin cups two-thirds full.
  • 4. In a small bowl, combine topping ingredients and cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over tops of muffin batter.
  • 5. Bake for muffins 16-20 minutes or until muffin tests done. Mini loafs bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack before dusting lightly with powdered sugar.

1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
3/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Stir together the dry ingredients.
  • Add butter and blend well.
  • Add egg, maple syrup and milk.
  • Stir until well blended (do not over beat).

2 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded carrots
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup raisins
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and sour cream; beat well. Stir in the carrots, coconut and raisins. , Combine the flour, baking soda and cinnamon; stir into creamed mixture just until moistened.
