1/3 cup yellow onion, chopped
3 slices bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 slices bacon, whole
1 cup montgomery inn barbecue sauce
28 ounces pork and beans
1/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 teaspoon dry English-style mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Prepare a 2 quart baking dish with a non-stick baking spray.
  • Saute onion and bacon pieces in a skillet for 2-3 minutes or until onions are translucent.
  • Combine onion mixture, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and dry mustard with the beans and liquid from the beans. Stir well until ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Pour bean mixture into the baking dish.
  • Place 2 remaining strips of bacon on top of the beans.
  • Bake uncovered in the pre-heated oven for approximately 1 hour.

1 cup Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce
2-15 ounce cans Kroger Pork and Beans
1/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 tsp. dry mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 2 quart baking dish with cooking spray. Saute onion and bacon in a skillet for 2-3 minutes. Pour beans in baking dish. Combine onion mix, and rest of ingredients, except bacon slices. Place slices of remaining strips of bacon on top of beans. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour.

This is the best shredded chicken you will ever put in your mouth! This can be cooked in a crockpot or stovetop. I have made this several times, and there is no way to mess this recipe up. I have also used Boston Butt pork and made pulled pork.

4 lbs boneless chicken breasts, skinless
3/4 cup water
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon cumin
1 (28 ounce) sweet baby ray's barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in the crockpot except for the BBQ sauce and cook for 3 hours. Remove the chicken to a plate to cool. Shred with a fork when cooled enough to handle.Drain the juices, but reserve about 1-2 cups to put back in with the sauce to get the right consistency. Return the shredded chicken to the pot and add the entire bottle of BBQ sauce. Add a little of the reserved juices at a time until you are satisfied with the consistency. NOTE: when assembling the ingredients, do not be fooled into thinking that there is not enough liquid in the crockpot. Do not add more liquid than the recipe calls for. The chicken will add broth as it cooks.

This is a very old recipe given to me by my mother-in-law. My husband loves these beans and requests them often. If you have an occasion coming up, give them a try! You won't be disappointed!

2 (28 ounce) cans pork and beans, drained plus
1 (14 ounce) can pork and beans, drained (70 ounces total)
1 cup brown sugar
1 medium onion, chopped finely, sauteed in bacon fat
1 green pepper, chopped finely, sauteed in bacon fat
1 cup Dark Karo syrup
1/4 cup prepared mustard
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 (4 1/4 ounce) can deviled ham (optional)
pepper
8 slices bacon

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except bacon.
  • Lay bacon across the top.
  • Bake at 325°F for 2 hours.
