Our mom's steak marinade is the BEST! It's been in our family forever. Mix a few simple ingredients together for the marinade; this steak is so moist and flavorful.

1½ cups vegetable oil
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground pepper
½ cup apple cider vinegar
¾ cup soy sauce
2 Tablespoons dry ground mustard
⅓ cup lemon juice
6 small steaks

Steps:

  • Mix together vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, dry mustard, and lemon juice in a Ziploc bag or an airtight container (like tupperware or rubbermaid).
  • Add 3 pounds of steak (about 6) to the marinade (any cut of steak will work).
  • Store in fridge to marinate for about 8 hours. Flip over the steaks halfway through marinating.
  • Grill over medium-high heat to your liking

This is a terrific family dinner. Tender pieces of steak are sauteed with juicy peppers in a great sauce. Serve with white rice or buttered mashed potatoes, and Italian bread for dipping. This is a really easy dinner. I hope your family will enjoy this as much as mine does.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 green bell peppers, cut into strips
2 red bell peppers, cut into strips
1 ½ pounds round steak, cut into strips
1 onion, grated
1 cup crushed tomatoes
½ cup water
3 ½ teaspoons white sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and cook and stir the green and red peppers until tender, about 10 minutes. Remove the peppers from the pan and set aside.
  • Place the steak strips into the skillet with the grated onion, and cook and stir for about 10 minutes, until the steak is evenly browned and no longer pink inside. Return the cooked peppers to the skillet, and stir in tomatoes, water, and sugar. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the steak is tender and the sauce has thickened.

Mom made this recipe and we serve it with steaks, a side of mashed potatoes and veggies. I love olives so really like this! It's simple and easy too!

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/3 cup red wine
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
8 black olives, pitted and chopped
1 teaspoon oregano
1 dash olive oil, to fry the garlic and onion
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Heat some olive oil in a saucepan on medium heat.
  • 2. Add the chopped garlic and onion and fry until slightly browned.
  • 3. Add the tomato sauce, red wine, olives, and oregano.
  • 4. Add salt and pepper if desired.
  • 5. Simmer on low heat for approximately 15 minutes.
  • 6. Serve over steak or any meat you like!
