Egg Salad Sandwich image

The best Egg Salad Sandwich recipe comes together easily with just a handful of simple ingredients!

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 large eggs
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
¼ cup finely-diced celery
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish, drained of juice
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
For serving: croissants, bread or rolls of choice; lettuce

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan. Cover with water so that there is about 1 inch of water over the eggs. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 12 minutes.
  • Drain and rinse eggs under cold water for 1 minute.
  • Once the outside of the eggs feel cool, crack egg shells and carefully peel under cold water.
  • Roughly chop the eggs.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, mustard, celery, pickle relish, salt and pepper. Add the chopped egg and gently mix until combined.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
  • Assemble sandwiches with egg salad and lettuce on croissants, bread or rolls of choice. Serve immediately.

8 large eggs
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 cup Olive Oil Mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
Freshly ground black or white pepper
8 (1/4-inch-thick) slices rustic white bread
Thinly sliced red onion, for serving
Tomato slices, for serving
Garlic Dill Pickles, cut into wedges, for serving

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a medium saucepan; fill with enough cold water to cover. Bring to a boil over high heat. Immediately remove from heat; cover and let stand for 10 minutes. Drain and cool under cold running water. Peel eggs and coarsely chop.
  • In a large bowl, mix together eggs, celery, mayonnaise, and salt; season with pepper. If salad seems dry, add more mayonnaise to reach desired consistency.
  • Divide egg salad evenly between 4 slices of bread; sandwich with remaining slices of bread. Serve with onion, tomato, and pickles.

  • Place egg in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and chop.
  • Place the chopped eggs in a bowl, and stir in the mayonnaise, mustard and green onion. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Stir and serve on your favorite bread or crackers.

3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon chili sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 hard-boiled large eggs, chopped
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup chopped celery
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons diced pimientos, drained
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
12 slices white bread
6 lettuce leaves
6 slices tomato

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, mayonnaise, chili sauce, salt and pepper. Stir in the eggs, green pepper, celery, onion, pimientos and parsley. , On six slices of bread, layer lettuce, tomato and 1/2 cup egg salad. Top with remaining bread.

This corned beef and egg salad sandwich recipe might seem a little strange, but it's often the unusual combinations that taste amazing.

Deli sliced corned beef (2-3 slices)
1 slice Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons egg salad (recipe below)
handful of potato chips
2 slices rye bread
egg salad: 4 eggs 1/4 cup Hellmann's mayo 1/2 teaspoon dill relish (optional salt and pepper to taste)

Steps:

  • Prepare egg salad. Place egg in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and chop. Place chopped eggs in a bowl, add Hellmann's mayonnaise, salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
  • On a piece of rye bread, add a layer of corned beef, then a layer of egg salad. Sprinkle some chips over the top of the egg salad. Spread some additional Hellmann's mayonnaise onto the second piece of bread, and gently press onto the chips. Enjoy.

3 tablespoons dill relish (drained)

1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt (more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh chives (chopped, optional)
fresh spinach
fresh Romain lettuce

Steps:

  • Stir all the egg salad ingredients together until evenly mixed.

8 eggs
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
Dash garlic powder
Dash salt
Dash smoked (or regular) paprika
Chopped chives and ground pepper, for topping (optional)

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a large saucepan; add just enough water to the pan so eggs are completely submerged. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, cover pan and remove from heat. Let eggs sit 12 minutes in pan, then drain and run under cool water.
  • Peel eggs, then chop. Transfer chopped eggs to a large bowl.
  • Stir in mayonnaise and mustard; taste, and add more mayo or mustard depending on your preference, if necessary. Add a dash of garlic powder, salt and paprika and stir to combine; taste and adjust seasonings to your preference. Cover and chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
  • Serve on bread, toasted or untoasted, with chopped chives and ground pepper on top, if desired.
