HEARTY HAM LOAF
"THIS is a recipe that comes from my father's side of the family. It's a simple dish to make, good for just about any occasion. The sauce makes the meat especially flavorful. For me, this recipe brings back all kinds of memories of my childhood days in Nebraska. I hope you'll enjoy it in your home over and over again, so it can create some memories for you as well."

MOIST HAM LOAF
Not only is this main dish special enough for entertaining, but I can assemble it early in the day and pop it in the oven before dinnertime. It seems much fancier than meat loaf, it's just as easy to make. Plus the cherry sauce really dresses it up, so guests think I fussed.-Nancy Brown, Dahinda, Illinois

- The third meat included in the recipe is bacon. I slice the entire slab of bacon into 1 inch squares. Basically cut it to a size that will fit your meat grinder.
- The last meat you need to prep is the fresh pork. Again, cut this into chunks that will fit the meat grinder. Once all of your meat is prepped, place the entire batch of 4 meats into the freezer. Leave it there as you prep the rest of your ingredients prior to grinding. About an hour will do.

- Add clove and allspice to the milk. In a large bowl, add all ingredients together and mix. Divide into two loaf pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about one to one and a half hours. Do not overbake or it can become dry. Look for a temperature of 160 degrees in the center of the loaf. The top should be nicely browned.
- Depending on the amount of fat in the ham or ground pork, you may find quite a bit of fat in the pan; with today’s leaner pork, it isn’t as much of a problem as it was in the past, but you may drain this off.
