5-INGREDIENT COPYCAT BURGER KING FRENCH TOAST STICK RECIPE
We wanted to indulge in our favorite French toast sticks all the time, so we came up with this 5-ingredient copycat Burger King French toast stick recipe.

Steps:
- Remove and discard the crust from each slice of Texas toast. Slice each piece of bread lengthwise into three equal pieces, creating six sticks. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, make the batter by combining the egg, milk, and cinnamon sugar. Whisk until the batter is fully combined and you no longer see flecks of yolk.
- Heat 1/4 inch of oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
- When the oil is shimmering, briefly dip a Texas toast stick into the batter, allowing the excess to drain before transferring the bread to the hot oil. Continue dipping the sticks into the batter until all the bread is in the pan. If all the sticks won't fit in the pan at once, cook the French toast sticks in several batches.
- Cook the French toast sticks for 1 to 2 minutes per side, until they're golden brown and cooked through.
- Sprinkle the cooked French toast sticks with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve with maple syrup, if using.

LOW CARB MOCK FRENCH TOAST
This is an awesome low carb alternative to regular french toast. Even though it is made with pork rinds, NO ONE would ever know. Even if you yourself don't like pork rinds just give this a try. The consistency is so much like REAL french toast. I eat this almost every day for breakfast.

Steps:
- (1) Mix eggs, cream, sweetener and cinnamon.
- (2) Crush pork rinds and mix with above mixture.
- (3) Allow to soak until it becomes a very thick and goopy batter (3-5 minutes).
- (4) Fry pancake style in butter until browned and flip over. Cook until done as you would french toast or pancakes.
- Serve with any LC syrup or make your own as follows:.
- (1) Cream butter until soft (use as much as you need for syrup). I melt it in the microwave.
- (2) Add maple extract and sweetener to taste.
MOCK FRENCH TOAST - SOUTH BEACH FRIENDLY (PHASE ONE)
This has the taast of french toast. Goal is to yield 8 crepes, but that seems pretty tricky and time consuming to accomplish without correct tools (skills?). I aim for 2-4 pancakes. Pretty tasty and filling. Still need your veggies though.

- - Bring egg to room temperature or place in warm water for about 5 minutes.
- - Place all ingredients in blender and blend thoroughly
- - Ladle or pour into small pan (coated with cooking spray) on med to high
- - You can either go for thin crepes or do as I do:
- scramble loosely, then form into a pancake shape
- - Once in desired shape you can press down to cook out some of the moisture and brown slightly.
- - Serve with no sugar added Pancake Syrup and added cinnamon if desired
- Notes:
- - You can go as far an the pre-browning stage in pre-prep and just brown to finish.
- - I made 3 large pancakes, but imagine you can get 4 or so medium sized ones.

- Beat the eggs together in a large bowl. Stir in the half-and-half and the milk. Then whisk in the brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, cardamom and nutmeg, and be sure the spices are well distributed. Finally, stir 1 cup of the Vermont maple syrup into the batter.

- Put the pork rinds in a quart size Ziploc bag, discarding any hard pieces. Crush with a meat mallet until finely crushed.
- In a small bowl, beat the eggs well; stir in all but pork rinds. Add the pork rinds and let stand for 5-10 minutes until it thickens and becomes "gloppy".
