- In a 1-qt. glass jar, layer the sugar and brown sugar, packing well between each layer. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; spoon into jar. Top with oats, cranberries and chips. Cover and store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months., To prepare cookies: Pour cookie mix into a large bowl; stir to combine. Beat in butter, egg and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. , Drop by the tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.

- Layer the ingredients in a 1 quart jar in the order given. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next layer.
- Include a card with the following instructions: Cowboy Cookie Mix in a Jar 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. 2. In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir in the entire contents of the jar. You may need to use your hands to finish mixing. Shape into walnut sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. 3. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven. Transfer from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.

Steps:
- Mix baking soda and baking powder with flour.so you can add flour mixture into one layer.
- Layer ingredients in order given into a wide-mouth. Press each layer firmly so it will all fit in the jar.
- Attach these instructions to your gift.
- INSTRUCTIONS.
- Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl.Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
- Add 1 stick butter or margarine, very soft. (please do not use diet).
- 1 large egg, slightly beaten, and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
- Mix until completely blended. you will need to finish mixing with your hands as this is stiff.
- Shape into balls the size of walnuts.
- Place 2" apart on sprayed cookie sheet.
- Bake in preheated 375° for 12-14 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet.
- Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling.

- In a large bowl using a hand-held mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter, egg, and vanilla extract together on high speed until combined. Don’t worry if the egg isn’t fully combining with the butter; it’ll all come together with the dry ingredients. Add all of the jar ingredients and mix on low speed until combined. Cookie dough does NOT require chilling. Drop by rounded Tablespoonfuls onto parchment paper or silicone baking mat lined baking sheets, about 3 inches apart.
