1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. mayonnaise
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 1/2 c. shredded cheddar, divided
1 c. chopped ham
2 tsp. garlic powder
10 dashes Frank's Red Hot
5 dashes Worcestershire sauce
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 loaf French bread
Sliced green onions, for garnish
Crackers, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350º.
  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese, 2 cups cheddar, ham, garlic powder, hot sauce, and Worcestershire until fully mixed, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Hollow out the inside of the bread with a serrated knife and slice hollowed bread into cubes. Scoop dip into loaf and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar. Wrap loaf in aluminum foil and bake until dip is warmed through and bread crusty, 28 to 30 minutes. Garnish with green onions and serve with bread pieces and crackers.

1 (1 pound) loaf French bread
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped cooked ham
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
½ cup chopped green onions
¼ cup chopped green chile peppers
2 small jalapeno peppers, chopped, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Cut the top off the bread loaf, keeping in one piece, and reserve for later use. Hollow out the loaf to form an area for the filling. Chop the removed bread for dipping.
  • Mix Cheddar cheese, ham, sour cream, cream cheese, green onions, green chile peppers, and jalapeno peppers in a bowl; spoon into the hollowed bread loaf. Return the top to the bread and wrap loaf with 2 pieces aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until filling is cooked through and bubbling, about 1 hour 20 minutes.

2 cups shredded, about 8 oz cheddar cheese
8 oz softened cream cheese
1 ½ cups sour cream
1/2 cup cooked, chopped ham
1/3 cup chopped green chilies
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1/8 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 lb round loaf French bread

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients except the bread in a medium bowl, stirring well. Set aside.
  • Cut a thin slice from the top of the bread loaf and set slice aside.
  • Using a gentle sawing motion, cut vertically to, but not through, the bottom of the loaf, 1/2-inch from the edge.
  • Lift out the center of the loaf and cut into 1-inch cubes, setting them aside.
  • Fill the hollowed bread loaf with the dip. Cover with the reserved top bread slice.
  • Wrap the bread loaf with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  • Serve with reserved bread cubes, crackers, or potato chips.

2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup sour cream
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup green chili, chopped
1/3 cup green onion, chopped
1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 loaf Hawaiian bread (large round loaf)

Steps:

  • Cut 'lid' in top of bread (cut it much like a jack-o-lantern); pull out bread in middle of loaf, creating a large bread 'bowl' with a 'lid'. Reserve the chunks of bread that were pulled from the interior for later use.
  • In large mixing bowl, combine all other ingredients, mix well and pour into bread 'bowl'.
  • Cover 'bowl' with 'lid', wrap completely in aluminum foil and bake one hour at 350 degrees.
  • Allow to cool slightly before removing foil and serving with reserved chunks of Hawaiian bread.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) package sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package shredded cheese (I use sharp cheddar)
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1 can chopped green chili
1/2 cup chopped ham lunch meat
1 round loaf Italian bread

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese and sour cream with mixer until smooth.
  • Add all other ingredients and stir well.
  • Cut top off bread loaf and hollow out the center.
  • Put mixture in the bread and put the top back on. (If you don't want to do the "bread thing" I have also put the ingredients in the crockpot on high till all cheese melts, stirring once or twice, then lowering the temp to low or warm settings to serve.)
  • Wrap in aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
