Homemade hot fudge sauce is easy to prepare and is ready in minutes.

Ingredients

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate (5 1/2 ounces), chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1/2 pint vanilla ice cream
1 container fresh or jarred cherries

Steps:

Place chocolate in a medium-size bowl. Heat 1/2 cup cream with 2 tablespoons water in a small saucepan. Bring to a slight simmer.
Pour hot cream over chocolate and allow it to sit undisturbed for a minute. Stir until fully incorporated. Stir in corn syrup until smooth.
Whisk remaining 1/2 cup cream until it is whipped to soft peaks. Place 2 scoops of ice cream in two bowls. Spoon sauce over ice cream. Top with whipped cream and a cherry.

This is a slow cooker dessert that will have them coming back for more and then asking for the recipe. Don't let the "mint" part scare you. It's ooey, gooey, fudgy goodness that you spoon straight from the Crock Pot and serve hot with ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry on top.

1-3/4 c light brown sugar, packed
1 c all-purpose flour
5 Tbsp cocoa, unsweetened
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c evaporated milk
2 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
cooking spray
1 pkg andes creme de menthe thins candy (4.67 oz.)
1-3/4 c boiling water
vanilla ice cream
whipped cream
maraschino cherries

Steps:

1. In large bowl, combine 1 cup brown sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt. In small bowl, combine evaporated milk, butter and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Transfer to slow cooker coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with chocolate mint candy.
2. Combine water and remaining brown sugar and cocoa. Pour over batter. Do not stir. Cover and cook on high for 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours, depending on size of slow cooker (larger slow cookers will require less time), or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream and cherries.

1 12-ounce package semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
2 pints vanilla ice cream
15 hard red-and-white-striped peppermint candies, crushed

Steps:

Combine chocolate chips, butter, cream and sugar in heavy medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and salt. (Can be made 2 weeks ahead. Cover and chill. Rewarm before using.)
Place 2 scoops ice cream into each of 6 sundae glasses. Spoon hot fudge sauce over ice cream. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
