Number Of Ingredients 9

6 cups broccoli coleslaw mix
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix and onions. In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine the remaining ingredients; shake well. Drizzle over coleslaw; toss to coat.

Add a little variety - and a lot of nutrients - to your coleslaw game with this recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 head broccoli
1 small carrot
1/2 red cabbage
½ cup flaked almonds
1 large avocado
1 Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 Tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper

Steps:

  • To make the avocado mayo dressing, halve the avocado and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh out in to the jug of a food processor. Add the apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and blend for 1 minute until smooth and emulsified.
  • Taste and add extra seasoning or apple cider vinegar to taste.
  • Remove the ends from the carrot and grate using a grater. Add to a large bowl.
  • Finely slice the red cabbage and add to the bowl.
  • Chop off the stalk from the broccoli and either grate or blitz in the food processor to roughly chop it. Add to the bowl.
  • Roughly chop the florets of the broccoli and add to the bowl.
  • Add the almonds and avocado mayo to the bowl and toss well to combine.
  • Serve with a few extra flaked almonds sprinkled on the top.

2 cups shredded red cabbage
1 small sweet onion, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, shredded
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup coleslaw salad dressing

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and toss. Refrigerate, covered, at least 2 hours. Stir before serving.

1 cup Bacon (cooked, crispy, diced) (Reserve fat for dressing)
1 cup Cranberries (Dried)
1 cup Almonds (Toasted, Sliced)
1/2 cup Red Onions (Small diced)
1/4 cup Marcona Almonds (salted)
2 cup Buttermilk
1 cup Mayo
1/4 cup Honey
1 tablespoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
2 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 cup Bacon Fat (rendered)
1 batch Salt & Papper

Steps:

  • 1. Combine Salad Ingredients
  • 2. Combine Dressing Ingredients Except for Bacon Fat.
  • 3. Slowly Whisk in the Bacon Fat
  • 4. Season w S&P to taste
  • 5. Toss w Salad Mixture
  • 6. Let sit in fridge for 30 mins, re-toss, serve

1 (12-ounce) package broccoli slaw* OR 4 cups shredded broccoli stems + 1 shredded carrot
OR 4 cups combo of shredded cabbage + broccoli slaw (or any slaw mix)
1/2 cup Veganaise (OR your favorite mayo)
1.5 tablespoons honey (OR white sugar)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
a few spins freshly ground black pepper (about 1/8 teaspoon)

Steps:

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the dressing ingredients. I like to do this in the bowl I plan to serve this in.
  • Add the broccoli slaw mix and gently toss it all together. Be patient and give it a minute if the dressing doesn't look like enough (it is!)-the broccoli will start to release some water and it will all come together into a creamy slaw after a minute or so. Refrigerate until it's time to serve.
  • This slaw is best the day you make it, but it keeps well in the refrigerator (covered), up to 3 days. Cabbage-based slaw keeps in the refrigerator for about two days.
