Steps:
- Marinate the steak in the olive oil and 4 cloves garlic for 2 hours at room temperature.
- Prepare the sauce by melting the butter in a medium saucepan.
- Add shallots and saute for 3 minutes.
- Add Worcestershire, mustard and rhe 8 cloves garlic and wine.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Keep hot in a chafing dish while cooking the meat.
- Stir in parsley and chives just before serving.
- Broil the beef over the fir or in the oven until the outside is charred. the inside should be very rare.
- Cut into 1-inch pieces and rush to the waiting sauce.
- Provide forks and small slices of French bread to absorb the juices and sauce.
- Do not cook the meat in advance, it will get to well done in the sauce.

My grandmother has made this recipe for years, and now that she can no longer do this herself, I have taken over the family tradition of preparing this great dessert. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Stir oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder together in a bowl; cut in butter using a pastry blender until mixture is mealy and butter pieces are uniformly small.
- Press half of oat mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- Cook dates with water in a small saucepan over medium heat until they fall apart and are easily mashed with a wooden spoon, about 10 minutes; remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Spoon date mixture evenly over oat mixture in baking pan; sprinkle remaining oat mixture evenly over top and press into place.
- Bake in the preheated oven until crust is golden at the edges, about 30 minutes; remove to cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

This is another very old recipe that is enjoyed not only by the children but the adults as well. While good anytime I like to prepare this for the children's holiday tray. Quick, easy and good.

- Mix peanut butter, syrup and brown sugar over low heat until melted and well dissolved.
- Stir in the Cornflakes and Rice Krispies.
- Press into a buttered 8x8 pan.
- Cool, then slice into squares.
