Who ever would have thought that chow mein noodles would go good in a cookie? They do!!! These cookies have great texture. No baking!

5 ounces chocolate chips
5 ounces butterscotch chips
0.5 (16 ounce) bag chow mein noodles (adjust to your taste)
2 teaspoons peanut butter

Steps:

  • Melt chips and peanut butter in a sauce pan. Pour over chow mein noodles and stir together. Spoon by spoonfuls on to a cookie sheet covered with wax paper.
  • Refrigerate.

These are just delicious, got this recipe from my mom she has been making these for years. Always a crowed pleaser.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup coconut
1 cup walnuts

Steps:

  • Mix together, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 cup flour spread into 9x10 baking pan press down bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
  • Mix together, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 cup coconut, 1 cup walnuts; spread over first layer bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  • Cut into squares while still warm and roll in powdered sugar.

This is a heavenly cookie. We cant stop eating them. Not sure where the recipe first came from , I got it freom our church cookbook.

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chopped dates or 1 cup prune
2 eggs, well beaten

Steps:

  • Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
  • Stir in dates and nuts.
  • Add eggs.
  • Mix thoroughly and spread into a greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes.
  • Cut into squares or finger lengths.
  • Remove to a cooling rack and roll in confex sugar if desired (I DO).

My MIL makes these every Christmas, my kids love them, but they also claim that they hate dates, coconut, and walnuts! go figure! These keep for a really long time, so they are a good addition to your holiday treats to have on hand

1 cup chopped dates
1 cup walnuts
1/2 cup coconut
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup pastry flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup fruit or 1/2 cup icing sugar, for rolling

Steps:

  • Mix the dry ingredients well, then add slightly beaten eggs.
  • Bake in shallow greased pan in a thin layer at 325 for 25 minutes.
  • Cut with a sharp knife while still warm, roll into logs, and roll in icing sugar or fruit sugar.

Easy, yummy cookie. I make these for the holiday cookie exchange, but I felt so guilty for making such an easy cookie, I didn't make them one year. The next year I was asked to please make them again, people were asking for them.

1 (10 ounce) bag of crispy chow mein noodles
1 (16 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (16 ounce) bag butterscotch chips or 1 (16 ounce) bag peanut butter chips (my variation)

Steps:

  • Make a clear space on your counter or table.
  • Using clean newspaper, cover the space with paper.
  • Melt chocolate and butterscotch (or peanutbutter) chips in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave for about 2 minutes, until smooth.
  • Check and stir the chips about every 30 seconds, as needed.
  • While the chips are melting, dump the whole bag of chowmein noodles into a large mixing bowl.
  • When the chips are ready, quickly mix them into the chowmein noodles.
  • Working quickly, place teaspoon fulls of the mixture onto newspaper to dry.
  • Cookies are ready when they are dry and set.
  • Enjoy.
