MERRY MOUNTAIN TRAIL MIX
This would make a great snack when you are out hiking in the woods or when you need an energy boost at work. You could also give it as a food gift for the holidays in a paper bag that you may want to personally decorate.

BIRD SEED (AKA TRAIL MIX OR GORP)
This is not really bird seed. It is a simple snack that we used as a get to know you on the first day of camp each session. It is really good and your kids will love it. This recipe can be modified to your liking but this is what we would put in it.

NO-NUT TRAIL MIX
With a child allergic to tree nuts and the schools not allowing you to bring in peanuts, I had to create my own trail mix. I love all the seeds, but more importantly, my daughter likes it too! The variations are countless, so use this as a base, or as-is!

QUICK-N-EASY TRAIL MIX
My DH used to complain that no one sells plain old "Trail Mix" anymore. So, I threw this together for him and he said it was perfect; it tastes just like the stuff he used to eat as a kid. This makes about 4-5 pounds of trail mix, so scale it down. Or freeze the leftovers. Or spend your next week at college snacking on it. Or, do what I did and give it away in pretty containers on holidays. Tasty! Yet so incredibly simple and fast to make! I hope your SO loves it, too.

Steps:
- Toss all ingredients into a paper grocery bag, except for the granola bars.
- Your goal is to crumble up the granola into bite-size pieces.
- So get a baseball bat, a rubber mallet, or a jackhammer, and unleash all of the stress and frustration you have accumulated so far this week upon the poor, unsuspecting box o' granola.
- (If he sees you doing this, your DH will be extra nice to you for the rest of the day.) Toss the granola bits into the bag with the nuts and fruit.
- Shake.
SCOUT TRAIL MIX
This is a Trail mix I make when I would go help out at Scout Day Camp. The scouts in my group will do just about any thing for a hand full. I make this in two batches on with nuts and one with out.
