2 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
1 cup honeydew melon, cubed
1 cup cantaloupe melon, cubed
½ cup ice cubes
½ cup lemon-lime soda pop

Steps:

  • Place the watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, and ice in a blender. Pour in the lemon-lime soda and puree until smooth.

There are many melon smoothie recipes that turn out too watery. This recipe shows how to make a watermelon smoothie with a creamy milkshake texture.

1 medium seedless watermelon
1 cup almond milk (or soy milk , or whole milk )
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
3 tablespoons maple syrup
Garnish: 2 sprigs mint
Garnish: 2 small wedges of fresh watermelon

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Cut the watermelon into small chunks of about 1/2 inch square. This size will be easier to blend into the smoothie. Reserve a few wedges, rind included, for the garnish.
  • Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Place the fresh-cut watermelon on the cookie sheet, leaving space between the pieces. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for 1 hour. If preparing the watermelon in advance for smoothies later in the week, once frozen, transfer to plastic storage bags and freeze in 3-cup portions until ready to use.
  • Once frozen, measure 3 cups of frozen watermelon and place in a blender . Top the fruit with milk, yogurt, and maple syrup. Blend until smooth.
  • Serve the watermelon smoothies immediately in chilled glasses . Garnish with a wedge of watermelon and fresh mint, if desired.

2 cups chopped seedless watermelon, plus watermelon wedges for garnish
1 small banana (about 5 ounces)
¾ cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
½ cup unsweetened coconut-milk yogurt (such as So Delicious)
2 teaspoons agave syrup or honey
⅛ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Arrange chopped watermelon evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze until completely frozen, at least 2 hours or up to 12 hours.
  • Cut banana in half crosswise; peel 1 banana half and set aside. (Reserve the remaining banana half for another use.) Place the frozen watermelon, peeled banana half, strawberries, yogurt, agave (or honey) and salt in a blender. Process until completely smooth and creamy, about 1 minute, stopping to scrape down sides as needed. Divide between 2 glasses. Garnish with watermelon wedges, if desired.
