Time 1h15m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 9

¼ cup sugar
⅓ cup water
¼ cup packed torn fresh mint leaves
8 sprigs fresh mint for garnish
1 (750 milliliter) bottle Sauvignon Blanc, chilled
1 cup fresh orange juice, chilled
½ cup Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur
3 cups bite-size wedges of cantaloupe
1 ½ cups bite-size wedges of seedless watermelon

Steps:

  • Stir together sugar, water, and torn mint in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer 1 minute, then cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. • Stir together wine, orange juice, Triple Sec, and mint simple syrup in a pitcher or large bowl. Add cantaloupe and watermelon and chill at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.
  • Pour or ladle over ice, if desired, into 8 glasses and garnish each with a mint leaf or sprig.

  • Use a melon baller to scoop 2 cups of watermelon balls out of a large slice of fresh watermelon. Slice the strawberries.
  • Pour the rosé wine, grapefruit juice, bourbon, honey and Chambord in a large pitcher. Stir until the honey dissolves into the mixture. (If your honey is especially thick, warm it first to thin it out before adding.) Then add the watermelon balls and strawberries. Cover the refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • After at least two hours, stir and taste for sweetness. If you like your sangria on the sweeter side, stir in a little more honey. If the sangria is too strong, plan to pour it over ice. When ready to serve stir in the fresh raspberries and pour into glasses.

  • Place the melon balls in a large pitcher, add the honey (2 tablespoons to start), lime juice, and ¼ cup of grappa. Mix gently and let rest in fridge for 1-2 hours or until 1 hour before serving.
  • Add the moscato wine, mix gently, taste and add more honey or grappa if desired. Keep in mind that you will top it off with sparkling water right before serving, so it’s okay if it’s on the sweeter/stronger side. Refrigerate for another hour.
  • Right before serving, add ice (or frozen melon balls as ice cubes), lime slices and mint leaves to garnish, and top off with sparkling water. You can prepare the final mix in the pitcher or serve it directly into glasses with melon ice cubes and top off each glass with the sparkling water.
