MEAT-LOVER'S PIZZA CASSEROLE

Italian sausage, bacon and pepperoni star in a hearty casserole that's sure to satisfy.

1 lb uncooked ziti or other tubular pasta
1/2 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 cans (15 oz each) pizza sauce
8 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
1/2 package (3.5-oz size) sliced pepperoni
2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend (8 oz)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 3-quart casserole with cooking spray. Cook and drain pasta as directed on package using minimum cook time. Return to saucepan.
  • Meanwhile, in 12-inch skillet, cook and stir sausage, onion, bell pepper and garlic over medium-high heat about 7 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink and onion is softened. Stir in pizza sauce, bacon and pepperoni. Pour mixture over cooked pasta; stir. Spoon half of pasta mixture (about 4 cups) into casserole. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the cheese. Spoon remaining pasta mixture on top.
  • Bake 30 minutes; top with remaining 1 cup of cheese. Bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until hot and cheese is melted and bubbly.

1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce
1 package (3-1/2 ounces) sliced pepperoni, chopped
1 can (2-1/4 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup biscuit/baking mix
2 large eggs
3/4 cup whole milk

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the pizza sauce, pepperoni and olives. Transfer to a greased 11x7-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese., In a small bowl, combine the biscuit mix, eggs and milk until blended. Pour evenly over cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Meat Lovers Pizza Bread is brimming with seasoned saucy ground beef, spicy pepperoni and three cheeses. A hearty appetizer, our Pizza Bread is a crowd-pleasing easy recipe to make. A perfect pizza recipe for game day, entertaining and the holidays!

1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 tsp. + 1/8 tsp. dried oregano, (divided)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
1 jar pizza sauce, (divided)
1 tube (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
4 slices provolone cheese
2 ounces thin-sliced pepperoni, (about 1/3 cup)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 Tbs. butter, (melted)
2 Tbs. grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • In large non-stick skillet cook ground beef, 1/2 tsp. oregano, garlic powder and kosher salt until browned, stirring frequently. Drain any excess drippings.
  • Cool slightly and stir in 1/3 cup pizza sauce.
  • Unroll pizza dough on baking sheet with shallow sides.
  • Spread 1/2 cup pizza sauce down center of dough. Top with sliced provolone, pepperoni, ground beef and mozzarella cheese.
  • Cut dough in 1-inch intervals in towards filling, down along both sides of dough.
  • Bring dough up and over filling.
  • Brush dough with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and remaining 1/8 tsp. oregano.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes or until dough is golden and baked through.
  • Heat remaining pizza sauce and serve as a dipping sauce with the pizza bread.
