Time 1h25m

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 pounds Ground meat mixture (chuck, sirloin, pork, chicken, or turkey)
1 cup Breadcrumbs, fresh
1/3 - 1/2 cup Milk, full-fat (or bone broth-beef, chicken, or turkey)
2 cloves Garlic, minced, optional
1 Onion, any variety, minced
1 teaspoon Fine ground sea salt
1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup Ketchup

1 teaspoon Dried thyme (substitute with 1 tablespoon fresh, chopped)
1 Large Egg
1/4 cup Ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Place the breadcrumbs in the bowl and gently mix with milk or bone broth to saturate. Add up to 1/2 cup of milk or bone broth.

MARY'S MMMMM MEATLOAF

Mary's Mmmmm Meatloaf image

The sweetness of the sauce makes this recipe really special. I prepared it without the optional green chilies and jalapenos, but may give that a try next time!

Provided by Mary Hodges @cookiecutter

Categories     Beef

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 pound(s) lean ground beef (grass-fed preferred)
1 - 8 oz can(s) tomato sauce
1/2 sleeve - ritz crackers (crushed) - do not substitute
1/2 tablespoon(s) garlic powder
1/2 - bell pepper (chopped)
1/2 - onion (chopped)
4 slices - sandwich cheese (cut in small pieces)
1 - egg
GLAZE FOR TOP
1/2 cup(s) ketchup
1/4 cup(s) brown sugar
1 teaspoon(s) prepared mustard

Steps:

  • Beat egg and blend in the tomato sauce and garlic salt. Add cheese, chopped onion, bell pepper, RITZ crackers, and ground beef. Thoroughly squish together with hands (yes, it is messy) If you don't want to get your hands messy, do as my friend did - put it all in a food processor and mix.
  • Spread in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 50 minutes.
  • Remove and drain off fat. Poke holes in the top and pour glaze on top.
  • Return to oven and bake 10 minutes.

MARE'S MOST DELICIOUS MEATLOAF

Mare's Most Delicious Meatloaf image

this meat loaf is sooooooo delicious...very moist, and with delicious gravy...It got raves in the Southern U S Cuisine..I promise it will be the only one you will ever make.. ok...just wait till you taste this..

Provided by mare5345

Categories     Meat

Time 1h50m

Yield 1 nice sized loaf, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 lbs ground chuck or 2 lbs ground round
6 slices fresh bread
1/2 cup milk or 1/2 cup cream
2 eggs, beaten with the milk or cream
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

Steps:

  • put meat, bread (broken up in large pieces), both eggs beaten with the milk, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • in a large bowl.
  • then mix about 1/2 the can of soup into meat mixture (if you are using 2 small cans mix 1 can into meat mixture).
  • mix thoroughly with VERY clean hands.
  • shape into a loaf (it will be soft, very mushy to be exact, a friend told me to say it is the consistancy of"tuna salad" or canned cat food") don't worry, it is a sort of flatter than most meat loafs.
  • Mix about 1 cup of water with remaining soup (if you are using the large can) and pour over loaf (or mix 1 cup water with the other small can and pour over loaf).
  • Bake at 375 degrees about 1 hour and 30 minutes (adding water periodically).
  • if the gravy looks too light -- cook for another 30 minutes -- it will never be too dry -- but the gravy will have a little more flavor -- keep scrapping down the sides.
  • It will be golden brown on top and you will have delicious gravy to use over rice or potatoes.
  • It is the best meat loaf you will ever eat (it is VERY moist and so delicious).
