A Very tastey bun wich is good for a light snake and also goood for partys

Steps:

  • oven on 190c.
  • Rub margarine in to the flour to make breadcrumbs.
  • mix in sugar.
  • crack eggs into a bowl and mix together.
  • add the egg to the flour mixture, a little at a time, using a table knife until the mixture forms s stiff dough.
  • Turn out on to a clean surface. kneed lightly and make into a roll. Use a little flour if it sticks to the board.
  • Divide into rounds equal pieces using a sharp knife.
  • Shape into rounds, and place into cake case and into a bun tray.
  • Make a well in the centre of each round and add a teaspoon of jam to each round.
  • put in oven for 15min antill goldenbrown. When cooked put onto a cooling tray.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to gas mark 6/ 200c/ 400F and grease a large baking tray.
  • Cream the butter and the sugar together, then beat in the egg.
  • Add the flour and fruit, then mix together using a wooden spoon.
  • Add the milk to make a soft dough.
  • Roll the mixture into small balls, place on the greased baking tray and cook in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
  • Leave to cool for around 5 minutes on a wire rack.
  • Then Enjoy with some cream.

JAM BUNS

These buns are a firm family favourite,yummy jammy buns, a mixture between a donut and a jam tart, perfect!

Number Of Ingredients 5

340g Self Raising Flour
85g Margarine
120g Caster Sugar
Raspberry Jam (or Jam/chocolate spread of your choice)
6 tbs Milk

Steps:

  • pre-heat oven to 170C/fan 150C/gas 5
  • seive flour, Rub in margarine until it resembles breadcrumbs, add sugar
  • add the milk to the mixture, little by little until it is a soft but not too wet dough.
  • place the dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly until completely smooth
  • Roll out dough to about 0.75 cms thick, cut into round ( 12cms in diameter, a glass can be used for this)
  • place a teaspoon of jam on to each one.
  • Damp edges of dough and fold them inwards to cover the jam. Put buns onto a greased tray, joined side down, they do spread to twice the size so leave plenty of room between each one,
  • Bake in a fairly hot oven for 15 - 20 mins
  • cool on wire rack
  • enjoy!

Tasy, easy to make snacks

200g Self raising flour
75g Margarine
75g Caster sugar
50g Chocolate chips
1 egg
1-2 tbsp water

Steps:

  • Set oven to 210 C / gas mark 7. Grease a baking tray
  • Sieve the flour into a mixing bowl
  • Cut the margarine into cubes and then rub into the flour using your fingertips. The mixture should then resemble breadcrumbs
  • Add the sugar and chocolate chips into the mixture. Mix using a wooden spoon
  • Break egg into a small bowl and beat with a fork. Add egg to mixing bowl and mix. Add 1 - 2 tbsp of water if the mixture does not stick together. The mixture must be firm enough to stand alone on the baking tray in lumps.
  • Place heaps of the mixture on the tray. Make sure that they are all an even size. Bake them for approximately 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

200g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp mixed spice
100g butter
85g light muscovado sugar
100g mixed dried fruit
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp milk
demerara sugar, or roughly crushed sugar cubes, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment. Tip the flour, baking powder and 1 tsp spice into a bowl. Add the butter, cut into small pieces. Rub the butter into the flour until the mixture forms fine crumbs (or do this in the food processor).
  • Stir in the muscovado sugar and fruit, then add the egg and milk. Mix to a fairly firm dough. Spoon 10 rough blobs of the mixture onto the baking sheet, leaving room for a little spreading. Mix together the sugar and remaining mixed spice and sprinkle over the cakes. Bake for 20-25 mins until golden brown.
