FAVORITE SLOPPY JOES
I've prepared these sandwiches for years. I've tried many sloppy joe recipes, but this one is the best by far. It also travels well for picnics or potlucks. -Eleanor Mielke, Snohomish, Washington

- In a large skillet, cook beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Add chili sauce, water, mustard and chili powder. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon 1/2 cup onto each bun; top with a cheese slice.

- # ingredients 3 tomatoes chopped 1 jalapeno minced ½ red onion minced ¼ cup chopped cilantro 2 Limes (for the juice) Salt and pepper instructions To make Pico De Gallo, mix tomatoes, jalapeños, red onion, cilantro, juice of 2 limes, and salt & pepper together. # step 2 instructions To make the Sloppy Joes place a skillet over medium high heat and let it get hot for about a minute. # step 3 ingredients 2 tablespoon vegetable oil instructions Add the oil and spread it so it covers the bottom of the pan. # step 4 ingredients 1½ pounds ground round instructions Add the ground round and cook, breaking up the meat with the back of a spoon, until all the pink is gone (about 15 minutes). # step 5 ingredients 5 tablespoons tomato paste 2 tablespoons sugar 12 oz. pico de gallo instructions Add the remaining ingredients and stir slowly to combine. # step 6 instructions When the liquid starts to simmer, reduce the heat to low, partially cover, and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally to keep the bottom from scorching. # step 7 ingredients Rolls or white bread instructions Open the roll or arrange the white bread on a plate. Spoon the meat mixture over it and serve.

This is a simple recipe that was given to me by my mother. She served it when I was a child, and my family of 6 loves it too. Serve on hamburger buns.

- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Mix ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, Parmesan cheese, relish, onion, and Worcestershire sauce into ground beef; simmer until heated through and flavors blend, 20 to 25 minutes.
