The Devil's Margarita image

The Devil's Margarita is the perfect drink to serve at your next Halloween party. It's a little sweet, a little tart, and SO YUMMY!

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 1/2 oz tequila blanco
3/4 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
3/4 oz simple syrup
Red wine (such as Cabernet or Carménère)

Steps:

  • In a shaker filled with ice, pour in tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  • Shake until chilled and pour into glass of choice.
  • Set a spoon at a 45 degree angle barely placed inside of the margarita. The back of the spoon should be facing the ceiling.
  • Pinch the top of the wine bottle with your finger and slowly pour red wine onto the back of the spoon and let it drizzle on the surface of the margarita.
  • Pour until you have about 1/4 inch of red wine in the glass.
  • Congratulations! You've made a really cool looking layered drink!

Number Of Ingredients 7

Lime wedges
Sugar
2 cups vanilla ice cream
2 cups lime sherbet
6 cups lemon-lime soda, chilled
3/4 cup lime juice
9 ounces silver tequila

Steps:

  • Using lime wedges, moisten the rims of 6 margarita or cocktail glasses. Set aside lime wedges for garnish. Sprinkle sugar on a plate; hold each glass upside down and dip rim into sugar. Set aside. Discard remaining sugar on plate., Scoop ice cream and sherbet into prepared glasses. Combine soda, lime juice and tequila; pour into glasses. Garnish with reserved lime wedges. Serve immediately.

  • Remove from the heat and pour the mixture into a blender. Puree until smooth. Alternatively, you can strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, pushing the juices out of the strawberries. Pour the mixture into a small juice jug and add the tequila (or lemon-lime soda), cointreau (or orange juice) and fresh lime juice. Cover and refrigerate until cold or until ready to use.
