MAPLE CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS
I got this recipe from the back of a Heinz ketchup bottle. I always loved the taste of bacon and maple syrup so I thought I'd give it try. It was great, very tasty. It calls for drumsticks, but I used 3 chicken breasts and cut them into about 1 1/2 inch pieces instead. This recipe makes a lot of sauce. Next time I make it I will cut the ingredient amounts in half. Or another idea would be to make the full amount of sauce but divide it so you can use one half for a dipping sauce which I should have done. Either way it is very tasty. I also omitted the cloves.

Steps:
- Season chicken with salt & pepper to taste.
- Roll each piece of chicken in bacon, fastened with a toothpick.
- Insert cloves & place in roasting pan.
- Mix together Worcestershire sauce, maple syrup, ketchup, garlic, thyme and lemon juice.
- Brush each wrapped chicken piece with sauce.
- Bake in 400°F oven for 45-60 minutes, basting occasionally.

- Preheat oven to 400°F Combine maple syrup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and cayenne in a small bowl and set aside.
- Season the turkey legs with the remaining salt and the fresh-ground pepper.
- Place the onions on the bottom of a roasting pan and put the turkey legs on top.
- Dot the turkey with butter and roast for 30 minutes.
- Brush turkey legs with the prepared sauce and reduce oven temperature to 325°F Continue to roast, basting with the sauce every 20 minutes, until meat is very tender -- about 90 more minutes. Serve hot or at room temperature.

- Heat oven to 375°F. Mix all ingredients except chicken. Place chicken in ungreased pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch. Pour syrup mixture over chicken; turn chicken to coat.
- Bake uncovered 45 to 55 minutes, turning once and brushing with sauce after 30 minutes, until juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. Serve chicken with sauce.

- Add chicken drumsticks to a large resealable plastic bag (skin on or off as desired). Combine ½ cup maple syrup, ½ cup chili sauce, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp minced garlic and salt and pepper as desired. Pour over drumsticks in bag.
- Seal bag and turn to coat drumsticks. Place in the refrigerator to marinate for 2-8 hours (I marinated mine just a couple hours).
- Preheat grill to about 400 degrees F (I had 2 sides on, and one side off so I could move them to indirect heat if need be). Either grease the grill with oil or non-stick, or spray a piece of tin foil with non-stick spray and place on the grill over the heat (*see post for additional explanation). Place drumsticks on the grill, and cook, turning every so often, for 20-25 minutes or until meat starts to fall away from the bone. Keep an eye on them so they don't burn! Move to indirect heat if need be.
- While drumsticks are cooking (or you can do this ahead of time if you need to), combine ¼ cup maple syrup, ¼ cup chili sauce, ⅛ cup apple cider vinegar and ½ tsp minced garlic in a small pot. Bring to a low simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring often, until reduced and thickened (about 10-15 minutes). Turn off heat and keep warm until chicken is done.
