1/3 cup sugar
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons canola oil
4 teaspoons prepared mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
Fresh spinach leaves

Steps:

  • Combine the first nine ingredients in a blender or food processor; cover and process until smooth. Serve over fresh spinach. Store leftover dressing in the refrigerator.

1/4 cup white wine vinegar
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3/4 teaspoon dill weed
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup olive oil
4 large Red Delicious apples, thinly sliced
1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
3 tablespoons coarsely chopped walnuts, toasted
9 cups torn romaine
3 cups chopped watercress (about 1-1/2 bunches)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, whisk the vinegar, water, mustard, dill, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Slowly add oil while whisking. In a large bowl, combine the apples, blue cheese, walnuts and 3 tablespoons dressing; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours. Cover and refrigerate remaining dressing., Just before serving, combine romaine and watercress in a large salad bowl; drizzle with remaining dressing and toss to coat. Divide among 12 salad plates; top with apple mixture.

4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped sweet onion
1 dill pickle, chopped
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise
1 teaspoon prepared mustard

Steps:

  • Place potatoes in a 15x10x1-in. baking pan coated with cooking spray; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 30-35 minutes or until tender. 1-1/2 cups halved cherry tomatoes
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup fat-free Italian salad dressing
1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
3 tablespoons thinly sliced green onions
1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup cubed provolone cheese
1 can (2-1/4 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained

Steps:

This is my fast and easy recipe for the famous Oriental Salad. This has a bit of a twist, and you can make it in a flash. It's simple, quick and delicious.

1 large head of cabbage, chopped
1 bunch green onion, chopped
1 cup slivered almonds, sauteed in
1 tablespoon butter
2 (6 ounce) packages instant ramen noodles (any Flavor)
8 ounces newman's low-fat sesame ginger salad dressing
3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Saute slivered almonds in 1 Tbl butter, set aside.
  • chop cabbage and onions - mix together. break up Top Ramen into small pieces and add to mixture.
  • Just before serving, pour 8 oz (about half a 16 oz bottle) of dressing over the top.
  • Mix, salt and pepper to taste, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top. Enjoy ;).
