Homemade Cough Medicine image

This is a home remedy for that horrible cough that you just can't get rid of, and best of all: you probably already have all of the ingredients!

Yield 4-8 doses

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients.
  • Take by the teaspoon as often as needed for cough.
  • Do not give to infants under 12 months due to the honey (though I doubt you could get them to take it anyway!).

1 Tbs cider vinegar (an organic one, like Bragg's, is preferred)
2 Tbs water
1 Tbs honey (use a locally produced raw honey, if possible)

Steps:

  • Use small glass jar with tight-fitting top. Dissolve cayenne and ginger in cider vinegar and water. Add honey and shake well. Won't dissolve perfectly. Keep at room temperature.
