A big favorite with my husband!! Very easy and the kids love it, too.

2 teaspoons margarine
3 tablespoons chopped onion
1 (16 ounce) can baked beans with pork
1 (16 ounce) package frankfurters, sliced
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon celery salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onions in butter until tender. Stir in the baked beans and sliced frankfurters. Season with brown sugar, mustard and celery salt. Transfer to a 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

A sweet and savory treat for any get-together that will sure be a crowd pleaser. It's cheap and easy to make in a slow cooker with only three ingredients. I make this for any get-together and it is always a hit! I was a little unsure at first about the grape jelly concoction, but I tried it and have never done it any other way. It is so savory with just enough sweet. I always receive or over hear lots of agreement with the taste of the sauce. It always disappears at parties, and the next day I have cravings for these cocktail wienies. Try it for your next potluck, back yard BBQ, or any event!

1 cup barbeque sauce
¾ cup grape jelly
2 (16 ounce) packages cocktail sausages (such as Lit'l Smokies®)

Steps:

  • Stir barbeque sauce and grape jelly together in a slow cooker; add cocktail sausages and stir.
  • Cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours.

These crock pot hot dogs are a classic appetizer recipe! Once you start eating these Little Smokies you won't be able to stop!

3 (12 ounce packages) cocktail franks
2 cups honey bbq sauce or brown sugar bbq sauce
1/2 cup seedless raspberry jelly or grape jelly
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup apple cider or apple juice

Steps:

  • Add the cocktail franks to a 4 quart slow cooker.
  • Mix the bbq sauce, jelly, dry mustard, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and apple juice or cider in a bowl until combined.
  • Pour the sauce over the hot dogs and stir to coat. Set on high for 2 hours or on low for 4-6 hours. These hot dogs can also be kept in your slow cooker on the "warm" setting during a party or holiday.

Hot dogs are delicious when baked in the oven with delicious homemade barbecue sauce.

1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
4 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
12 hot dogs

Steps:

  • Saute onion in butter until translucent.
  • Add black pepper, paprika, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, water, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to boil.
  • Cut 3-inch slits in each hot dog. Place hot dogs in a flat baking pan, slit side up. Pour sauce over hot dogs and bake in 350 degrees oven for 25 minutes. Occasionally baste hot dogs with sauce while they are baking.

1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup onion minced
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
1 pound hot dog or frankfurters
4 hot dog buns

Steps:

  • In heavy saucepan, combine vinegar, sugar, catsup, water, onion, and dry mustard. Simmer for five minutes. Add frankfurters to sauce heat to boiling. Lower heat, cover, and simmer 5 minutes or until frankfurters are heated through. Serve in hot dog buns. Can also be served over cooked rice.
