Add it to the flour mixture and stir until it forms a dough. Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface. Knead the dough approximately 20 times. Roll the dough out to a 3/4-inch thickness. Cut the biscuits using a floured 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place the biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 450 degrees F for 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and transfer the biscuits to a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve the biscuits warm or let cool completely and store in an airtight container.

LIGHT AS A CLOUD SOUTHERN BISCUITS

Light as a Cloud Southern Biscuits image

These biscuits remind me so much of my wonderful mother. She got up every morning to make biscuits before we all left for school..When I can home from school, there were hot biscuits just coming out of the oven for our dinner. I didn't really realize how special they were until I didn't have them anymore. All of my friends in the neighborhood would come by and eat those cold biscuits off the stove. They were amazing. This recipe is close, but still not the same. Enjoy though.
