Tart and refreshing, this minty-lemon drink is sweetened with just a touch of honey. It makes a lovely summer cooler any time of day. -Clara Coulston, Washington Court House, Ohio

Number Of Ingredients 7

5 cups water, divided
10 fresh mint leaves
1 cup lemon juice
2/3 cup honey
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
Ice cubes
Mint sprigs and lemon zest strips, optional

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine 1 cup water and mint leaves; cover and process for 1 minute. Strain mixture into a pitcher, discarding mint. Add the lemon juice, honey, lemon zest and remaining water; stir until blended. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. , Serve in chilled glasses over ice. Garnish with mint sprigs and lemon zest if desired.

64 ounces orange juice
2 cups chilled club soda

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher or container, combine the lemon juice, lime juice and sugar; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in orange juice.
  • Refrigerate until serving. Add soda and ice cubes. Garnish with lime if desired.

  • Add brandy (1 to 2 shots, depending on how happy you are).
  • Add creaming soda and lemonade. Stir. Taste. Top up with additional cream soda or cold water if it's too strong.

  • Squeeze the juice from the lemons and limes (you should have about 250ml) and stir into the pan.
  • Allow to infuse for at least 30 minutes. Remove the lemon zest with a draining spoon and discard. Pour the lemon and lime mixture into a large serving jug. Add a few sprigs of mint and top up with 750ml of cold water.
