Start your day with body cleansing lemon ginger water. A simple yet powerful detox will help you get rid of toxins and boost your immune system!

4 cups Water ((1 quart/1 liter, filtered or bottled))
1-1.4 ounce Ginger Root ((30-40 grams))
1 Lemon ((Medium-Large))

Steps:

  • Wash, peel and slice ginger. Throw it in a jug filled with water and place in the fridge overnight.
  • The following morning, pour into a glass and heat up until lukewarm. Squeeze in a wedge of a lemon and drink before your breakfast.
  • Drink throughout the day cold (or lukewarm if preferred). Always squeeze lemon in right before drinking to get the most health benefits out of it.

4 cups water
2 inch piece fresh ginger (, cut into slices)
1 lemon (, seeded and cut into slices)

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil on the stove.
  • Add ginger slices, remove from heat and allow to steep for 10-15 minutes.
  • Strain ginger pieces from the water and discard the ginger.
  • Pour into serving glasses and add fresh lemon slices.
  • Can be served hot or cold.

½ cup lemon juice
½ cup filtered water
1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled
4 teaspoons honey
15 cups filtered water
4 quart-size mason jars (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine lemon juice, filtered water, ginger, and honey in a blender; blend for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture evenly into 4 quart-sized mason jars or a 1-gallon pitcher. Top off with remaining water and stir. Place lids on jar or cover pitcher and store in the refrigerator.

Yield Makes about 2 quarts

Number Of Ingredients 7

About 1/4 pound ginger, peeled
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
About 2 quarts water
Equipment:
a Microplane grater; a funnel; a clean 2-liter plastic bottle with cap

Steps:

  • Grate enough ginger using Microplane to measure 3 1/2 tablespoons, then put in a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl to collect juice, pressing on solids and then discarding.
  • Place funnel in neck of bottle and pour in 3 tablespoons ginger juice (reserve any remaining for another use). Add sugar, lemon juice, yeast, and a pinch of salt.
  • Fill bottle with water, leaving about 1 1/2 inches of space at top. Remove funnel and screw cap on tightly. Gently shake bottle to dissolve sugar.
  • Let stand at room temperature until plastic feels hard and no longer indents when squeezed, 24 to 36 hours.
  • Chill ginger beer until very cold.
