1 slice multigrain bread, toasted and crumbled
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
3 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 tablespoon water
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a small skillet, saute garlic in oil for 30 seconds. Stir in bread crumbs and lemon zest; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from the heat. Stir in parsley; set aside., Place broccoli and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Drizzle with lemon juice; toss to coat. Sprinkle with crumb mixture.

7 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon minced lemon, zest of
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups soft white breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Cook broccoli in plenty of salted water until crisp-tender, about 4 minutes.
  • Drain.
  • Transfer to bowl of ice water and cool.
  • Drain and pat dry.
  • (can be prepared 8 hours ahead) Melt 3 tblsps butter in large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add broccol and saute until heated through, about 1 minute.
  • Transfer to plate; keep warm.
  • Add 4 tblsps butter, peel and add garlic to skillet; cook until butter begins to brown, about 1 minute.
  • Add breadcrumbs; stir until golden, about 3 minutes.
  • Season.
  • Top broccoli with breadcrumbs.

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pinch salt
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Place broccoli florets in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir 2 teaspoons lemon juice into water in a small bowl and pour the mixture into the skillet. Cover and steam until broccoli is bright green and tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
  • While broccoli is steaming, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and stir in garlic and salt; turn heat to low and let the garlic gently fry until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Drain water from cooked broccoli and return to skillet; sprinkle with 2 more teaspoons lemon juice and the butter and garlic mixture. 2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1 jar (8 ounces) process cheese sauce
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen broccoli cuts
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup crushed butter-flavored crackers (about 12 crackers), divided
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Reduce heat; stir in cheese sauce until smooth. Remove from heat. , Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain and place in a bowl. Steps:

  • Lightly toast the bread.
  • Put the bread in a food processor or blender and chop into bread crumbs.
  • Melt the butter in a small skillet.
  • Add the bread crumbs and sauté over medium heat until toasted. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until dry.
  • Set crumb mixture aside to get to room temperature (This mixture can be made ahead.).
  • Steam the broccoli.
  • Top broccoli with the lemon breadcrumbs, and mix together.
