- In a small skillet, saute garlic in oil for 30 seconds. Stir in bread crumbs and lemon zest; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from the heat. Stir in parsley; set aside., Place broccoli and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Drizzle with lemon juice; toss to coat. Sprinkle with crumb mixture.

Steps:
- Cook broccoli in plenty of salted water until crisp-tender, about 4 minutes.
- Drain.
- Transfer to bowl of ice water and cool.
- Drain and pat dry.
- (can be prepared 8 hours ahead) Melt 3 tblsps butter in large skillet over medium heat.
- Add broccol and saute until heated through, about 1 minute.
- Transfer to plate; keep warm.
- Add 4 tblsps butter, peel and add garlic to skillet; cook until butter begins to brown, about 1 minute.
- Add breadcrumbs; stir until golden, about 3 minutes.
- Season.
- Top broccoli with breadcrumbs.

- Place broccoli florets in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir 2 teaspoons lemon juice into water in a small bowl and pour the mixture into the skillet. Cover and steam until broccoli is bright green and tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
- While broccoli is steaming, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and stir in garlic and salt; turn heat to low and let the garlic gently fry until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Drain water from cooked broccoli and return to skillet; sprinkle with 2 more teaspoons lemon juice and the butter and garlic mixture. Sprinkle broccoli with black pepper, toss to combine, and season with a bit more pepper if desired.

- In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Reduce heat; stir in cheese sauce until smooth. Remove from heat. , Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain and place in a bowl. Add the cheese sauce mixture, eggs, 1/4 cup cracker crumbs, salt and pepper. , Transfer to a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish; sprinkle with remaining cracker crumbs. Place dish in a larger baking pan. - Lightly toast the bread.
- Put the bread in a food processor or blender and chop into bread crumbs.
- Melt the butter in a small skillet.
- Add the bread crumbs and sauté over medium heat until toasted. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until dry.
- Set crumb mixture aside to get to room temperature (This mixture can be made ahead.).
- Steam the broccoli.

- Whirl the bread in a food processor or blender to make bread crumbs. Melt the butter in a small skillet. Add the bread crumbs and sauté over medium heat until toasted. Grate the zest from the lemon. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half into the pan. Add the salt and several grinds of black pepper and cook, stirring constantly, until dry.
