This Pan Seared Salmon with Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce is one of the easiest tastiest dinners you can make! This salmon recipe requires minimal ingredients and it comes together so quickly.

4 (6 oz) skinless salmon fillets ((about 1-inch thick))
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves (, minced)
1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
3 Tbsp + 1 tsp unsalted butter (, diced into 1 Tbsp pieces)
1/2 tsp honey
2 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
Lemon slices for garnish ((optional))

Steps:

  • Remove salmon fillets from refrigerator and allow to rest at room temperature 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the garlic lemon butter sauce. In a small saucepan, melt 1 tsp butter over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and saute until lightly golden brown, about 1 - 2 minutes. Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice.
  • Let sauce simmer until it has reduced by half (to about 3 Tbsp), about 3 minutes. Stir in butter and honey and whisk until combined, set sauce aside.
  • Dab both sides of salmon dry with paper towels, season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a (heavy) 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once oil is shimmering add salmon and cook about 4 minutes on the first side until golden brown on bottom then flip and cook salmon on opposite side until salmon has cooked through, about 2 - 3 minutes longer.
  • Plate salmon (leaving oil in pan) and drizzle each serving generously with butter sauce, sprinkle with parsley and garnish with lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately.

½ cup water
1 lemon, juiced
½ cup butter, cut into 16 pieces
2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2 (1 pound) salmon fillets
½ cup butter, cut into 8 pieces
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lemon, cut into 8 slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Combine water and lemon juice in a bowl.
  • Arrange the 16 smaller pieces of butter in 2 rows on a baking dish and top with garlic slices. Place salmon fillets over each row of butter and garlic.
  • Melt remaining sliced butter in a bowl with minced garlic, about 40 seconds. Spoon about half the melted butter-garlic mixture over salmon and top with lemon slices. Pour about half the lemon juice mixture into the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Baste fillets with juices in the baking dish, then pour remaining butter and lemon juice over the fish. Continue baking until salmon is easily flaked with a fork, about 10 minutes more.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 F.
  • Cut Salmon Filet width-wise into about 1-1/2 inch pieces.
  • Spread a thin layer of butter/margarine over each salmon steak.
  • Slice lemon, and place 1 slice of lemon on top of each salmon steak.
  • Squeeze lemon juice out of unused portion of lemon evenly over each ste ak.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Serve with rice. Variations: The margarine is not necessary, however my husband says it's too bland without the margarine, and the lemon flavoring is stronger without the margarine. It also prevents drying if you like your salmon cooked thoroughly.

1.25 pounds skin-on salmon fillet
1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons lemon juice (from about 1 lemon)
1 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley, optional for garnishing

Steps:

  • Preheat outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Alternatively, preheat oven to 425F.
  • Place salmon on a sheet of foil (with the longer side parallel with the longer side of the sheet pan) with the skin-side down. Raise the edges of the foil up about 2 inches (or enough so that when you pour the buttery mixture over the top it will be contained in the foil).
  • Nestle lemon slices underneath the salmon, spaced evenly around the fillet; set aside.
  • To a microwave-safe glass measuring cup or bowl, add the butter and heat on high power to melt, about 1 minute.
  • Stir in the honey and lemon juice. Pour or spoon about three-quarters of the mixture over the salmon; reserve remainder.
  • Evenly season salmon with salt and pepper.
  • Seal up the foil. Likely you will need to add another sheet of foil on top in order to seal it. Crimp or pinch the top and bottom pieces of foil together; get it as air-tight as possible but it doesn't have to be perfect.
  • If you have time, set aside to marinate for about 10 to 15 minutes (enhanced flavor).
  • Place foil pack on the grill and cook for about 7 minutes, or until done.
  • Optionally, if you want additional browning on the top of the salmon, set your oven to Hi broil.
  • Open the foil pack or remove the top piece of foil so the salmon is exposed but keep the edges raised to contain the buttery mixture.
  • Spoon the reserved buttery mixture over the salmon, if desired. Use your judgment and if there's already lots of juice you don't need to add it because you don't want it to start leaking. If you have extra buttery mixture, it's great served over the finished dish.
  • Broil salmon for about 5 minutes, or until salmon is as golden as desired. Tip - You don't have to broil on the top rack, you can use the second rack, and while it will take longer, there's less chance of it burning. Keep a close eye on it because all broilers are different and you don't want the salmon to burn. Exact broiling time will depend on the size and thickness of the salmon, climate and oven variances, and personal preference.
  • Optionally garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 lemon, zest and juice (about 1 tablespoon of juice)
2 teaspoons fresh dill, finely chopped plus more for garnishing (garnish is optional)
1 lemon, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature while you preheat the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Spray a baking dish with cooking spray or coat the bottom with a little bit of melted butter or oil to prevent the fish from sticking.
  • Place the salmon on the baking dish (skin side down if your fish has skin). Season the salmon on both sides with salt and black pepper.
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice and fresh dill. Let the flavored butter cool for about a minute.
  • Pour the lemon herb butter over the salmon. Arrange the lemon slices on top of the fish.
