Vintage Lazy Daisy Cake - a buttery yellow cake layer with a broiled coconut topping.

Steps:
- Adjust an oven rack to the middle position and heat the oven to 350. Grease and flour a 13x9 inch pan.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Heat the butter and milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until the butter melts. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
- In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium-high speed to beat the eggs and sugar together until pale and thick, about 6 minutes.
- Using a rubber spatula, fold the flour mixture and milk mixture alternately into the eggs and sugar until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 to 35 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Heat the broiler while you mix the topping.

- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla on high until thick and lemon-colored, about 4 minutes. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture. Beat on low just until combined. Heat milk and butter in a small saucepan until butter melts. Add to batter; beat thoroughly (the batter will be thin). Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake until cake tests done, 20-25 minutes. Cool slightly. For frosting, blend all ingredients well; spread over warm cake. Broil about 4 in. from the heat for 3-4 minutes or until the top is lightly browned.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch pan.
- 2. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl
- 3. Heat the butter and milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until the butter melts. Stir in the vanilla.
